Ashley Johnson is the voice actress for Ellie in The Last of Us. She is a member of the Critical Roll group. She started in Sitcoms playing Chrissy Seaver in growing pains, then bounced around Sitcoms, and grew a career in voice acting. She did play an extra in Avengers, a waitress that Cap helps. However most of those bits were cut from the theatrical release. Johnson's most prominent roll recently was on The Blind Spot as a supporting cast member. It's a knock off of the Black List, but with a tattooed lady who's tattoos are super secret messages about terrorist attacks. Stupid as fuck, yet lasted 5 seasons.

The Velma number can be easily explained: if say 10,000 people watched it before all the negative comments and now 22,700 are watching it to see if it really is that shit, its viewings went up by 127%. That's still nothing to cheer about and the simple fact that they refuse to publish the numbers makes a case for those numbers being dreadfully low.

I'll have to drop it as a chat on your live - But Drinker... have you seen MR. INBETWEEN? Absolutely brilliant Australian series about a hit-man balancing his everyday life as a divorcee dad looking after his daughter at weekends, and his job as a hitman for a small-time gangster/club owner. Very gritty with great dark humour... brilliantly written, acted and directed - best series i've seen in a loooonnnnggg time!!!

There actually was a 2001/2002 Polish TV series, cut (or butchered) into a feature length film. It was called The Hexer (Polish: Wiedźmin). The effects are laughably bad but it has a certain charm to it and is much closer to the novels. It's on KZbin, if anyone's curious

It's so weird the way the Witcher show decided to treat Geralt, because if they had just followed the books, they would get a better version of what they were trying to create. Yenefer is very powerful in the books (Geralt is nowhere near her) and she is one of the most intelligent people in the books, while also being one of the biggest assholes, but she is written in a way where you come to understand her and love her. Ciri is not only the Chosen One, but also the second main character of the story. Geralt is only one of her mentors and her (destiny-appointed) father. There are entire chunks of the books where Geralt does not show up at all. He is merely mentioned. The first season should have just followed the first book completely. The chapters were mostly episodic and it was mainly meant to introduce and get us used to the world and its concepts. Mainly to introduce us to and get us invested in Geralt. So that when you take him away for a bit, we can then focus on the other characters in the world. Then you can start interweaving it all together from season 2. Like the books did.

Mauler unintentionally pointed out what is wrong with modern AAA games without realizing it when talking about GOW. All he talked about was the story. I watched TLOU playthrough and the gameplay was absolute trash. It was run from checkpoint to checkpoint and get the next cutscene. The story was OK, but the gameplay was boring. Old games were all about the gameplay with the story being secondary and in some cases nonexistent, but were still fun to play. Modern AAA games are all story and almost no gameplay. I was watching one guy play a game that was just riding a motorcycle from checkpoint to checkpoint to watch cutscenes play. These aren't games, they are digital interactive movies.

MauLer's God of War Rome pitch sounds too familiar for now. The aesthetics would be very similar when there's still plenty of wildly more different settings, and bringing even more of the old story like that wouldn't have as much freshness. They'll want to exhaust more possibilities before making that kind of return, I think.

You could have a story set in Rome where Kratos meets the Roman versions of the Greek gods, and they want to destroy him, but during their conflict a new threat arrives. And suddenly the Roman gods are invaded by angels. (Biblically accurate angels. Eyes and all) who have been sent ahead to basically evict the Roman gods and sterilize Mount Olympus for the Christian God's arrival. It would end in tragedy though. Because the Roman gods eventually lose and are replaced almost entirely. It could end with the surviving gods deciding to give up their immortality and join the world, or moving somewhere else. Who knows.

I think the Judaist cosmology would make for excellent multilayered antagonists. I'd love to see Satan come over to the Roman pantheon "to warn them of what's to come" where they and Kratos at first see him as a Mimir-type turncoat who's trying to help them against his spurned ex-boss, but Kratos quickly figures out that Satan can't be trusted and is only interested in inconveniencing "The Great Lord", using the Romans as disposable sand to throw in His eyes. And then Michael shows up and just starts killing everyone, and unlike Thor, this is a living weapon who kills who he's told to kill and loves doing it.

From what I have read, the Roman pantheon did not have much personality until the Romans overlaid the Greek pantheon myths on their gods. So it would be hard to day why they are different.

Yeah it was annoying how much the developers kept telling us that Kratos is now more powerful and the gods in the Norse mythology are stronger than the Greek gods. But there's a massive disconnect with this because we don't see more power being displayed in these newer games. Based on what I could see Poseidon was capable of versus the Norse gods, I'm confident he could have destroyed Asgard on his own.
