The reason why the Sound of Freedom screens have had these problems is because the worst screens and theaters were the only places that they would show the film. No theatre chain wanted to take a risk with it and put it on main screens because it was such a small scale movie, the distributor could only get chains to take the film if it was shown on their worst screens. So the distrtibutors took the deal because it was the best they were going to get.
@The_child-catcher Жыл бұрын

I read a comment the other day stating that those criticizing Barbie were simply insecure men. Of course it would be impossible to have any legitimate criticism for the movie, outside of insecurity. Right? 🙃
@EmptyAltruism Жыл бұрын
That’s the thing they always say when their movie is crap or has crap ideological messaging. Can anyone act surprised that they say this at this point in the game? It’s all motivated by self aggrandizing and not truth. They lie through their teeth. These people could light a building on fire and when they get called out for it they would say “you’re just insecure because you aren’t fireproof” or some crap. It’s base deflection and it’s sad it’s worked for so long on so many stupid ppl.

It's been the same narrative which started in media bit after 2010. If you criticize anything which concerns women especially if it's lead by a female no matter how spot on your criticism is, that means you are woman hater and/or incel. Because it's ideological narrative repeated by ideologues who lack actual thinking skills. They just repeat talking points they read in media, which usually repeats companies current narratives. I think one of the best one's was the claims that Star Wars is attacked by Russian trolls and that is where the criticism comes from.
@EmptyAltruism Жыл бұрын
@tubetorpedo You aren’t wrong. Well said. When I was younger I was very hung up on the idea of equality and I railed against sexism against women. now simply holding a woman accountable is tantamount to hate crime in certain groups eyes. Meanwhile sexism against men is not only common but encouraged. Needless to say my position has changed from when I was younger. I learned what I actually endorse isn’t equality but egalitarianism. You live and you learn I guess.

I prefer just two or three ppl talking. That’s why I don’t watch fnt because it’s nine ppl yelling over each other. Also most of the ppl they have on I’m not there to listen to. Now the real bbc, that’s just nerdrotic, heelvsbabyface, mauler, and X-ray girl, and a lot of the time X-ray girl is moderating so it’s basically 3 ppl. Much more palatable even though I don’t care for az’s yelling. He seems to think loud=funny for some reason when it’s just irritating, especially if you have earbuds in. I’ve been going back and rewatching the older episodes where it’s just mauler and drinker, specifically the predator review and the cornetto reviews (not the one without mauler) along with the terminator review. Absolute gold. The love that comes through for these movies is palpable. I’d highly recommend. Also I usually catch the efaps with drinker specifically but efaps can be quite long so you might not like those. I’d still recommend them if you have a long work day ahead of you and you can get away with using earbuds. Some have too many ppl so maybe avoid those? But there are great points that are made there.

Covid had a massive impact on both movies, they had to reshoot or delay many scenes and that caused the budget to be increase when in reality the movie most likely cost something like 150 million and 50 million more for marketing. I actually feel bad for Disney because it used to be a great company but now Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger have drove it into the ground.

Yeah, the Tomb Raider argument. I very much consider the modern trilogy to be better than the original games and the movies. That duel wielding, summersault, backflip stuff is way too corny and unrealistic for my taste. The modern games story has a good character arch where Lara grows from being a weak university graduate trying to make a name for herself into a hardened tomb raider. I can understand why people find her irritating at times because yeah, she does sulk a bit too much, especially in the third game, but overall that modern trilogy is way better than the previous games in my opinion.

IP .. adapt WH40k.. and funnily enough it may be getting a tv series/movie with Henry Cavill. Rather distressing for my face, the thought causing me to smile. Now lets hope it doesn't get violated like the Witcher.

Perhaps naively I had hoped they were on some kind of course correction with the visual style after Bay but I'm ignorant to the actual plot. Could you fill me in on where it goes wrong or is this one of those "the less you know the better" scenarios?
24:33 the staff of a big newsstand (they're candystands and hangouts now) near my flat were all wearing pink Barbie t-shirts last weekend. One dude with a particularly bulbous beer belly looked beyond cringe. And this is in the third world. The marketing's costs ought to be ridiculous.

Star Wars will never get better so long as the Filoni cult still exists among the fans. They are simple minded sadly.

I hope that "Barbie" are going to flop in a long run - it would be bad if woke movie would be successful and set bad precedent for other films.

I think Ghostbusters 2016 still hates men, especially given it's portrayal of all the male characters. I've never seen it, but from what I've heard, it was very negative. So even if Barbie was more extreme, it doesn't make GB 16 any better.

They make the men so evil and dumb, because the women in that film were all pretty much retarded. They had to elevate the retarded women somehow. :)
@EmptyAltruism Жыл бұрын
I have seen it for free of course. Wouldn’t pay half a penny to watch that mess. I don’t recommend. It’s really terrible, and the way hemmsworths character is portrayed (among other males) definitely leads a person to believe the writers don’t view men in general in a favorable light

@@EmptyAltruism I watched the entire GB extended cut. It is a world of retardation including the women. Like a crap version of Idiocracy. Everyone dumb, but this time unfunny.

They did an EFAP Movies on it, and yeah it pretty blatantly hated men alright, very difficult to watch that movie even with the EFAP crew there to make it actually somewhat fun.

I'm not thrilled about Gerwig seemingly doing The Chronicles of Narnia. We haven't seen a new film since 2010 and it's just a shame that they've never finished adapting them. I just wish they would be and that they'd be done well.
@chasehedges6775 Жыл бұрын
Gosh, I love the first 3 Narnia movies. It’s going to be hard to top them, along with the fact that they never made or continued with the other books(Horse and His Boy, The Silver Chair)

Re Maulers RE5 remake. It should but more often than not quality is not why remakes get made. Cash grabs are, so yes it doesn't need one but we could get an even worse game, just with better gfx.
