Its not about education, these people are more educated on the realities of life than you because they live hand to mouth. The problem is human overpopulation that has expanded beyond capacity. "first world" countries are at the forefront of this as they live for convenience, everything packaged in plastic and shipped from across the world. I would say if you can't see that fact you and pretty much everyone with the ability to watch youtube are the ignorant ones. Not trying to be harsh but it is the truth we all have to realize if we want this to end.

@@schiros123 all h These people talk about them being terrible humans. They don't have the ability to go to walmart and buy something else. They have to do what it takes to live and everything else pays the price.they r comfortable watching these videos saying how bad these people are and never put a dollar towards what they say they are so passionate about or a boot on the ground because it's no where near the standard of living they are use to so they can see and understand. I personally have not either but I have the sense to understand that these people have nothing else to rely on. And until more than trying to stop people from hunting animals changes. Guess what? Animals are going to be hunted.

The punishment doesn't fit the crime, only three years? There needs to be stiffer punishments. For the poachers it needs to be longer than ten years the same for the people who sell the meat. Maybe three years for the people eating the meat.

Yeah that's stupid. The poachers are the main source of the meat. Stop them, stop the problem. Start out with super harsh punishments, to prove a point.

@@matthewmcclain1316 your comment is stupid it's us people that create the extra need for the trade. We have money and want different things. Comments are disgusting. Its bad that theyre eating endangered animals but its a matter of survival, they eat whatever they can find. You would do the same if you were in this situation unless you all wanted you and your family to die. The real solution to this is to educate them and also provide them with more affordable and non endangered meat. In our society human lives are seen as more important than animals - if there is meat available you will eat it to survive rather than letting yourself die to keep the animal alive
@raphaelmarcelo55036 жыл бұрын

I agree that people living in this environment are doing what seems natural to them. You can't judge them from a western point of view. I get to go to a supermarket and buy my food. They live in a village in the middle of nowhere. Most of them probably don't even know how to read. This is an extremely depressing issue: the loss of the great apes due to the hunting and the deforestation of the forests due to lumbering and palm kernel oil production. And its us in the developed world who are the consumers of the cheap furniture and all the foods containing containing palm oil. Look up what it has done to the orangutan habitats. I'm trying to resign myself to the fact that these animals and the elephants are not going to be around that much longer.

I believe it’s a privilege to be in a place to criticize these people for eating bushmeat. Living in North America, I can’t relate to the struggle for these people to eat. But eating monkeys and more so great apes, is incredibly dangerous. Transmission of disease through blood from poorly cooked meat and contamination is risky to the human eating it and the other humans with which that person may interact. HIV/AIDS is common within chimps and has little affect on them compared to us. It’s likely bushmeat that gave us the AIDS crisis.

All I see is survival. You guys must also realize this people aren’t educated. I bet some of these people don’t even view them as close relatives as human. For ex in japan when they see whales they see huge fish. But from our western view point we see a majestic animal with feelings. All of those people are trying to us make money for their family. I bet they could feed a whole village by selling monkey meat. If you really want to help this problem you would try to bring education to this countries not Criticize them from behind a compute screen and go about your day like nothing happened.
