The first man they interviewed who's wife was killed and burnt... I can't help but imagine her begging and screaming for her husband to help her, and him standing there. She would've known what was coming and every fibre of her being would've wanted her husband to rescue her. Imagine knowing all your life that you have done nothing wrong by anyone and then suddenly you are accused, condemned to death, for something you know within the depths of your soul, you had no part of. Her body burning, a life lost, and all for hearsay... this hurts my heart.

Never have I ever had such a huge respect for the interviewer anywhere. Not because he is in a wheelchair, but because he is such a compassionate human-being who knows what to ask in different circumstances. Not many possess such ability. Many just tend to be neutral, almost distant from the issue they are trying to broadcast.

Seeing this channel’s videos makes me so grateful for what I have. My biggest worries are what clothes I’m wearing tomorrow, or when my amazon packages will be delivered. There are people in other countries suffering and yet they are still able to smile and be grateful for all they have. This just made me realize how much I have and how I wish I could help other people. The woman who got her roof repaired was so happy despite all she’s gone through. Seeing her smile really just makes me so happy man. What an evil world we live in.

I witnessed a witch trial once. Back in 2008 when i was 10 years old. Both my parents were born and raised in Tanzania. The accusers were preparing a fire to burn them. I was shocked. I remember being with my father And he hurried to the police station to get help. And he did save the day. I still cannot believe what I saw. And among the accused was a little girl no older than six years old.

I wanna make a clarification couse I’m a Tanzanian and I want you to get it right. It’s not only wemen that were being killed it’s all the old people with some sorts of red eyes which they believed it was a sign of sorcery. But these killings affected wemen more than men. The government solved this problem ( belief) with the help of sungusungu(local vigilantes)then another killings evoked of old bald men were sacrificed for wealth seeking, this didn’t take much longer, it vanished by sentencing all the witch doctors and every participant in it. Note: This only happened in a certain tribe in Tanzania in one region, this tribe believes so much in witchcraft and also its where the killings of albinism was intense. And Remember Tanzania has more than 26 regions and more than 126 tribes in place 🤔

I am from Tanzania, its a big peaceful country, this documentary was based on lake region, a small portion of the country where people still have strong beliefs on witch-hunting.like many other countries in the world witchcraft was practiced before the introduction of any religion and so does witch hunting. Its a secretive act. The governments and NGOs are acting upon the issue, spreading awareness and education. recent there have been a big change due to increasingly affordable education and religion; as we both know its not easy to change a belief, help is still needed to change the minds of witch hunters especially psychological help. I hope this documentary steer more help to the affected communities.

Governments cannot protect all people all the times, otherwise we wouldn’t have gang crime in the us and territorial stabbing in the UK. If Tanzania was the land where government doesn’t protect people, it wouldn’t rank among the most peaceful countries in the world according to the world peace index. It’s possible to condemn an evil act without using a judgmental generalizing statement.
@starrlite20326 жыл бұрын
King Kinjikitile ... what exactly are you referring as "generaling" when the discussion is "labeling WOMEN" as witches, expecially purposefully to "steal" their inheited land or grudgeful purposes. Clear with such attitude you must live in such areas this is condoned. If so... SHUT YOUR DAMNED MOUTH!!!!

there's different magic madam, a black one that you have to kill even ur family members, have sex with them, take someone to be ur shadow in doing some hard work like farming, they can even turn your into a cat or mouse so you can steal money for them, and there this other magic that can be used to cure other people only spiritual, not some diseases, and that's how they work. the problem is, most people are fake as a result too many deaths to innocent lives.

I have lived 6 years in different African countries. The superstition of non-educated village people is appalling. You can't just go and break beliefs that have existed for hundreds of years and generations. I remember one incident I had with our driver and it still gives me goosebumps. We talked about thieves and people stealing things because they were so poor. He just looked at me and smiled saying: oh Mam, we just burned a thief the other week. He tried to steal my neighbors motorbike. So we caught him, beat him up and put a tire round his neck, doused it with gasoline and burned him. How can you argue with people that do something like that? And did I mention, that he was actually a really nice guy? The witch hunt doesn't surprise me. They are also killing Albinos in the believe, that the consumption of Albino body parts will give them super-strength. It's a very different world!!

It still amazes me that anyone thinks they could simply kill a magical being like a witch. If they can easily curse you or hurt or kill you with magic, then why would they let you kill them? They'd simply kill you there on the spot or fly or teleport away or simply shift perspective onto someone else. If they were really a witch, they would be able to just save themselves

You need to read more about what a witch mean. It’s not like what you see on Disney movies like Peter pan. Witches are normal humans who “as rural and religious cultures believes” do specific practices like killing an animal to the devil… etc. to gain friendship relationships with spirits. Theses spirits helps them do magic either to do paranormal shows like at the beginning of this video or doing special spell to harm people by killing them or making them ill. There’s also a type of it in which they break marriages or prevent them on the first place or making a person fall in love or being submissive to another person to force them to marry them… so it’s not about being magical or protected it’s about writing special spells or doing specific ritual for demons Since the beginning of history, millions and millions of people (mainly women) where killed by being accused of practicing witchcraft. So it’s not as these days as magic known as colorful fairies with magical unicorns who has bags of glitters to help bring joy to people in need

not really, there is tremendous witchcraft in Africa. Have you never heard of voodoo? Have you never heard of the widespread hunting of albino africans they kill and use for witchcraft? Witchhunts are honestly a step in the right direction. It's not like they are making herbal tonics and that's it, it's about as evil as it gets. It needs to be purged from the face of the earth.
