Interesting idea, the execution is a bit less so, especially with regards tobtue production that sounds underwater, almost. It's not something that sounds "new" to me, either, Arcturus went through a similar deconstruction very early on in the whole 2nd wave, ans Solefald, who showed up a bit later, were even more intentional in their subversion of tropes.

First half had me a little bored. I like atmospheric black metal, but they weren't really doing anything interesting. If the song was only the second half, I'd have to say I did enjoy it.
