Very underrated movie... the kind you would pick up at the video rental place because you already watched the more popular Allen titles, yet find yourself returning to this movie first when revisiting them.

Where did Farrow go to summon up that performance? It was mesmerizing and touching.

Which is more ironic since he was nominated for Best Director and Screenplay Oscars and Mia Farrow was sadly over-looked for her wonderful performance - in my opinion, her best - I loved this movie and can watch it every time it's on

Fuller than Mahhattan, better acted than Radio Days and funnier than Bananas. Up there with Sleeper, in my humble opinion

Milton Berle and Howard Cosell make Cameos in this film? Now I have to see this! Piqued my curiosity.

It existed. I was there. I was a small time player.

I sat at that table in The Carnegie Deli. It closed in 2017. The city closed them down for stealing natural gas. 😮

Holy smokes... I just realized I don’t think I’ve seen this one? BTW...did A O Scott recognize Howard Cosell....at the time an even bigger celebrity than Milton Berle?

For me this film is not about nostalgia or the preposterous story but about Allen's always strange view of Italian-Americans, coupled with DOZENS of hilarious throw away one- liners. And, even in B&W, did the New York I came of age in in that era really look like such shit? I nostalgically have prettier memories.
