The scales are zytel and the model is 13ZM. That worn look on the scales is factory, though the added wear on the edges is due to use. So that look on the "plastic" scales was deliberate on that particular model. But what you did was just fantastic! CRKT should be looking into using your ideas to "spruce up" their knives. I love that "Rocky Mountain Tread" on the scales. You turned an ordinary knife into something special...thanks for this video!

I'm not sure honestly, I've never worked with Magnesium alloys. I know that it is lightweight and corrosion resistant but that's about it.🤔
