Finally a tutorial that A. Uses a foundation row before starting the basket weave and B. Is using the posts, not the top of the stitches as one does for regular stitches❣️❣️. I can't begin to thank you enough. I have been trying to find a tutorial that does and I finally founds yours. I just needed the visual to grasp the written pattern. I am so grateful you made this tutorial. Thank you, thank you, thank you❣️❣️❣️❣️.

I taught myself how to do the basic stitches such as single, double and half double crochet. All I could do was a straight line blanket. I recently figured out the granny square stitch. Now, thanks to your very simple and slow paced video I have accomplished the basket weave. I am in process of making my new grandson a new baby blanket. I truly can't thank you enough for helping me learn this design. I am still learning to read patterns yet with your instructions, I am now getting then nack of it. I feel very proud. I see me making more blankets in the future as well from your other videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to show this.

I have to say thank you for showing me the proper way to FP and BP 💕 that was what has helped me with learning this and a few other patterns and another step closer to advancing my crocheting level. I will continue to practice with this pattern but with a 5.5 mm hook to see if that helps me with my stitching. The 5.0 is ok but my hook has to be a bit bigger so I can get better results with the amount of tension.

Great tutorial but I prefer to work with a foundation chain for blankets cos it makes bordering easier. I'm trying to work out what the stitch multiple would be tho. I'm thinking multiples of 8 for the 4 back post and 4 front post plus 2 for the 2 edge stitches... Is my thinking correct? I've got the yarn in project bag with the hook ready but want to check before I start and get it wrong lol

I am hooked on crochet for about a year now and beginning to move beyond some of the basic stitches/designs. Wonderful tutorial on this stitch and I can't wait to use it on a project. I am thinking of a men's vest or sweater, if I can manage it and if I can find a pattern. It does seem like the foundation chain and the final sample you crocheted are different sizes. Does this stitch pull in a bit? About how much? Half the length of the original chain/foundation row? Thanks for sharing your skills on the web!
@IMRad4JC9 жыл бұрын
Hi! I have 2 questions...I have just started doing this pattern (and love it), and am wondering why there is to be only a "half double crochet" at the end of the row instead of a regular double crochet stitch? It seems like doing only a half double crochet wouldn't match the height of the stitch like a regular dc would...input? Second question, what's the best way to add a nice edging stitch onto the finished project? Just keep going with the yard and do a few rows of sc, OR would it be best to finish off, and then start the edging separately? Thanks!

Hi,lovely stitch pattern!! thanx for sharing! can it b used to make a sweater?
@bhookedcrochet9 жыл бұрын
It sure can! This stitch it pretty versatile. My only recommendation for this stitch being used as a sweater is to use a lightweight yarn. When you work up this stitch in a worsted weight, it creates a very thick fabric that may not have the proper drape.

So, wherever there is a FPDC on the first two rows, you do a BPDC on the next two rows, wherever its the opposite? Like, so there's always the reverse of the 2nd rows stitch twice on top of the two rows? So, one sqaure = two of the same way facing DCs?
@supagirl2779 жыл бұрын
supagirl277 Nevermind, it's the base set of DCs, then 3 front facing, then 3 back facing, alternating between sets of squares on the first 4 rows, then 4 front 4 back on the next 4 alternating and so on.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! ^_^ Like I said I'm new to all of this and wasn't sure what to do.

So basically, first 4 rows is front, back, front, back, etc ... the next 4 rows is back, front, back, front, etc ... the next 4 rows is front, back, front, back, etc ... the next 4 rows is back, front, back, front, etc until you reached your desired length. I take it you do a row of simple double crochet for the last row to finish the piece off (to have the same edging on the very first row)?
@bhookedcrochet9 жыл бұрын
You actually don't have to since the second row pulls the stitches if that first dc row into position, it matches the end!
