Although I have been crocheting since the 5th grade I have never tried this technique before but recently found a beautiful brioche pattern I want to make for a friend. Thank you for such an easy to understand tutorial. I especially appreciate the technique of carrying the yarn as I dispise weaving in ends with a passion which burns with a thousand suns. I am really looking forward to trying it.

Reminds me of doing HDC in the 3rd loop. Get the same effect. I have made many circular neck warmers in this fashion.
@naztazia7 ай бұрын
Yes absolutely. The nice thing with the method in this video is it's in rows. The 3rd loop HDC really only effectively works in rounds to get that brioche look. I've done some HDC 3rd loop videos where it's in rows, but the chain like look is much farther apart than in this method.
@CreationsOfParadis7 ай бұрын
@@naztazia interesting ... I must be doing something different. 🤔 I've never done hdc 3rd loop in rounds, only rows

Donna this is a beautiful stitch. How best to use it? Do you need to use more that one yarn to make it stand out. It look like several layers of yarn. Thanks
@naztazia7 ай бұрын
In the video, I show the one color version, which I think looks pretty good. Later I show the two color version. I think either one color or two look just fine!
@patriciaharris11467 ай бұрын
I was trying to figure out the right wording. It wasn’t a question regarding the color. The yarn look very thick. Are you using double layers of yarn? Ex: some patterns say Holds two yarns together. I wasn’t sure if that’s what you did or the weight of the yarn is a 6. Also what would I use this pattern to make? (Blankets, hats, or scarves. Thanks again
@naztazia7 ай бұрын
Oh ok! In the opening photo and first couple of seconds of the video I used a super bulky weight yarn (size 6) for that sample (where I turn it over) mostly so the stitches can be seen on camera. In the actual demonstration of the stitch, in both the single color version and the two color, it's just a regular medium worsted weight yarn in I believe a cotton and acrylic blend. This is a pretty thick stitch, yet has a good amount of stretch, so I generally use it for trivets, hats, scarves, etc. I haven't yet used it in sweaters, but it would seem to be nice for it.
