Gorgeous blanket and border! Excellent tutorial! Could you please add a link for your crochet hook? I love how you get consistent size stitches on the shaft because the wooden handle acts like a “stopper” so stitches don’t move into the grip. Thank you!

I am making the little boy blue blanket and love it. Your tutorials have clear instructions and this makes it very easy for a beginner like me to follow. I don't really want to block the blanket and was wondering if I just used single crochets in the corners instead of the half doubles if it would still look square? Or... would they be too small and pull the corners down? I like the three rows of camel stitch so that is what I was going to do. Thanks.

Thank you Robin for showing this stitch border and I had a good belly laugh at the beginning of the video over “get your little boy body” comment. How about starting the border in a corner, so you have complete camel stitch on all 4 sides, for I think this would solve the issue of starting the stitch on the side.

Hi! Thank you for the nice video with tips for ending. I do have a question. I just finished a "For the Love.of Texture" afghan and have SC all around with 3 Sc in each corner. On your 1st round, would it be OK for the borders to only be a crochet 1 HDC chain 2, 1 HDC rather than 2 HDC, chain 2, 2 HDC? I've seen variations of the camel stitch border and just want to see what you think about that. Also, you place a chain 1 and HDC under both loops in the stitch before working into your 1st chain 3 space. Just curious, should that be through the 3rd loop? Thank you for your advice! I always have difficulty with the corners/borders!!

You don't HAVE to block your items, it simply pulls them into shape if needs be - I tend to pin out my blankets to dry after washing so that blocks them without me having to really think about it :-)

Hi Robin, I am just about to start making the little boy blue blanket and was looking at this border to see if I would be able to do it. I ordered the wool from Snugglebean Yarn but they didn’t have the border wool so I ordered the Cygnet DK in white but watching this video you say at the beginning that the border wool is thicker so I’m now concerned the DK I’ve bought will not be thick enough for the border ?? Also when you get to the 3rd row of the border it looks on the video that you only go into one of the V’s not through both, am I correct ?? Thankyou.

I’m brand new and just making a blanket for my aunts baby boy. I do feel like it needs a border though and so I’m gonna try thing border, you use the word “blocking” a couple times, can you explain to me what that is. Sorry for the ignorance.
@HookedbyRobin
@HookedbyRobin 5 жыл бұрын
No need to apologise! Blocking is when you pin out your project into the shape you want, get it damp and let it dry - there are several ways to do this, either wash your project then pin it out, OR I like to pin it out then mist it with water. You can also use the steam from your iron but don't let the iron touch your yarn otherwise it will melt 👍
