I am a beginner at crocheting, and I have viewed several videos, and mikeyssmail has the BEST videos for a beginner like me. I love his videos. Thank you so much Mikey for your videos, they are very clear and very easy to understand for my "old" age....(58).....never thought in a million years that I would be interested in crocheting and I have started a "lap" blanket for my elderly mother who resides in a nursing home. My goal is to try to make a few more for the residents who don't have one.

@ladywolf9978 This was the second one done of the two of them... because of my partnership... I was scared and extremely nervous. I have a script and that script was really making me nervous... it's easy... I have a time limit of 5 Minutes or less... so I have to get everything done within that time frame... It's a super great challenge for me to speed it up... In fact, the video is spend up by 5% over top of what it was to talk a bit quicker...

@rabrdi KZbin distorts colours and brightness. The uploaded version is never 100% what is shown when editing. Special editing is done on my end in the recent videos to ensure colours and clarity in video is maintained.

Wonderful! I've always had problems with changing colors. Having watched several videos this was the one that helped me the most. Very easy to understand and learn from. Now I can crochet my tobaggan the way I want it to be done. University Of Tennessee colors because my others are solid orange and had knots in them! Thank you so much keep these helpful videos coming!

THANK YOU!! Very simple, and yet such an important technique to master. I'd sort of figured out the "sandwiching" on my own, but this was an excellent lesson for me on the "correct" way to swap colors. I'll definitely have to check out some of your other vids!

I've had my ends pull out when using this method. If I could make a suggestion... instead of trimming them off after they've been buried, use a yarn needle and weave them back the direction they came from, each color woven into the matching color, one above and one below the color change row. This has worked for me :)

I wish I saw this earlier!! I've been crocheting for years and using knots (so messy!!). Even other tutorials not using knots made it look messy. This looks clean, and I'm going to try it out on a few projects.

Thanks for this, it was really helpful. I'll definitely use this again in the future. Only, the blanket that I'm making is compiled of treble clusters (or, double crochet clusters), so when crocheting over the yarn end, it shows and is loose. Looks like I'll be sewing my ends in!

@weddingbliss201012 жыл бұрын
Im going to be honest. I have tried using this and after a couple of washes (if the stitch is a loose type (ie, dc) it sometimes comes out. It will also depend if you are like some that have a tendency to like to stretch the blanket and/or curly it around your feet, you take a chance. If your making a family heirloom, you might want to make the knots and be sure.

When I crochet purses I use this method is great to hide the yarn, but still the color change point is very noticeable not because of the color, but because when you end the row, you have to slip stitch and do chain 3 for the next row up and matter what I do, when the work is finished you can see exactly where those ugly stitches where. The stitches never look seamless. Can you show me a way to do it where this won't happen?

@susanambrose819210 жыл бұрын
I am sorry. .. I have tried this technique over the years, and I have found it is not as secure as a square knot. Knots can be buried in a fashion similar to what you are doing. .
@lindaholder496010 жыл бұрын
Your edges are very sloppy. When you turn to start next row, chain 2 instead of three when doing a double-crochet.

Janet Rabig I wasn't trying to be unkind, I was simply saying that there is a way to tighten up the sloppy ends.

linda holder but it's critical. How about asking if he's interested in a cleaner edge? Maybe he likes it.
@lindaholder49609 жыл бұрын

+linda holder I used to chain just two and my projects kept coming out uneven and curly.When I learned the chain 3 method, it works much better.
