I loved this hat but mine came out large enough to fit an elephant head after the brim. I frogged the hat after 2 days work. I don't know what I did wrong. Your hat is the best looking for a Christmas tree hat.

My hat came out big too! And it flops over. I’m extremely saddened about it. I spent so much time on it. I haven’t even put the star or lights on. I’m contemplating frogging it and starting over but my hands say otherwise. I might go buy a cone and put the hat on it and I use it as a centerpiece instead. Cuz it’s just to big and heavy. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I ended up chaining 60 with 5mm then started my decrease at 6 instead of 10 with 2 rows of a 2-decrease then finishing off.

Mine looks like the end result, but it's so tall and floppy. And the weight of it pushes on my glasses. This thing would be a better centerpiece than a hat.

How do you make the lights... I do a magic circle with 6 stitches but how do you tie off the circle and attach it to the string wotb out little strings sticking out... mine are so messy

For round 10 when you say “ repeat this all the way around” did u mean repeat the decrease stitch in the remaining stitches all around, or continue the pattern of 10 DC then a decrease DC and then another 10 DC

I come out to 25.5" with 84 chains using a 4 mm hook & moderate tension & dont want to use a smaller hook than this. I prefer 5 mm but 60 chains gives me 21" & I dont know how that number works with the decreases. What might I be doing wrong?

I'm a little confused...you said to decrease after seven every other round...for how many rounds. is it after 6 then decrease at 7 then do 5 then 7 then 4 then 7 or is it just rotate decrease after 6 then 7 then 6 then 7?

Yeah agree.. especially for beginners.. my daughter askin me for help.even written is pretty confusing.. could of added th other rows19-27 to b saying a repeat or something especially if we have to read it.. read what.. omg really.. lol

A time stamp would be useful… it’s at 17:08 in blue text for anyone else looking. Decrease every other round, by one less each time. So R16 is DC 7, decrease. R18 is DC 6, decrease, R19 is DC 5, decrease etc.

You need to recount cause I got 70 chains using a 5 mm hook and I chain pretty tight and got 21 inches.84 chains does not equal 21 inches.Recount your chains and remeasure.
