Thank you Mikey! I was trying to follow the written pattern but it just wasn't working. I also wanted to make this an afghan rather than a blanket and you always help us by giving us the formula for changing the sizes. (I came up one short also so next time will add the 10 instead of 9) After watching your video I realized that the pattern says to only do 4 stitches in making up the shell rather than the 5 you showed us here... works perfectly now! My 95 year old mother by choice will love this! Appreciate so much!

Woooohooo, I just finished my blanket. The size is 65" wide and 77" long. I had to adjust it by starting out with a chain of 202, but you made that easy, Mikey. You gave me the secret code. It has worked up so fast. It took me about 7 hours to complete. It is such an easy pattern to remember. I used an anti-pilling, premium acrylic yarn in light dusty rose. It came out so beautiful. Thanks so much for this tutorial. My best friend will be so happy and surprised by this 🥰❤💯❤🥰🙏

I love this pattern but I also love straight edges so for the first stitch of each row, I ch 2 then dc in next stitch. For the last 2 stitches on each row I dc2tg in the last two. Made straight edges. 💜 beautiful and easy to do!

I am so happy that this video is available, I thought I was losing my mind! I'm not sure if the written pattern has an error, or if I'm not reading it correctly (still working on reading and fully understanding patterns). Anyway, my understanding was that the shell was made of 4 double crochets, not 5 as shown in the video here. On my way to frog, hopefully for the last time so I can get this one done! Thanks again!

After watching your video and crocheting along with you several times I thought I’d try doing it just by reading the pattern and then it all made sense. The one thing I discovered after several attempts is the the first row of the pattern says to dc in the 4th chain from the hook and then do a dc in the next TWO chains, not the next 3 chains as you did. That explains why you were short a chain at the end of that row. Rows 2 and 3 start out the way you did it, however the starting row is different. Thank you for your video!

Thank you for making this video. In the written instructions on Michael's site and the packaging, for the first row it says "Skip next 4 ch. all in next ch - Shell made." I had no idea what "Shell made" meant! I'll be done with my 2nd skein and starting the 3rd today and it is looking beautiful! I am using the Blueberry Scone color because it really reminded me of beach colors and I'm making it for a friend who loves the beach. It's a very easy pattern and would recommend to any level of experience. Thanks again Mikey!

I really thought I was reading the pattern wrong because of the 'jut' at the end. Now I see how it looks I think I'll go with the actual pattern rather than modifying it for a 'clean' look at the ends. Thanks for the video. :)

Hi Mikey, thank you so much for this tutorial, I have 8 Caron cakes in the colour Bumbleberry (purple is my favourite colour) and I've been trying to figure out what to make with them, I knew I wanted a throw or something for my bed, people were telling me to make little squares and join them together, that was not really what I wanted to do, then I came across this pattern and I think this is the one, so I've started on my first cake and it's starting to look great, I have a 7 hour road trip coming up and being a passenger in the car I really needed something to do, so this is perfect to do. I love your tutorials thank you very much from a West Australian fan 😊🤗🤩😍😉🐨🇦🇺🏆💖💝🐨 I hope you had a wonderful Easter 2022 🐇🐰🐥🐤🐣🐇

The stitch multiple is wrong. I got 16 + 12. That's 8 for the wave half pattern added at the end plus 4 for the chain up . I did it 3 times and finally had to add ahead 3 Dc when I used the pattern's directions. I think the designer was thinking row 2 started with a sc instead of a dc. Beautiful easy pattern. I also tried it with straight edges but I like the bumps, so it dos not need edging. Thanks Mikey for a lovely video.

I know this pattern has been out for awhile .I'm getting ready to start it and I watched the tutorial. Then I go to written pattern and use that but the written pattern is different than instructions in the tutorial... which should I follow ? The tutorial says you'll have 4 double crochet in the beginning ( ch 3 plus 3 db crochet) the written instructions say 3 in the beginning ( ch 3 plus 2 db crochet ) then tutorial says 5 db in the one stitch separated by ch 1 the written pattern says a total of 4 db crochet in the one stitch each separated by a chain one???? If you follow instructions on written pattern then yes 16+ 9 works if you follow the tutorial then 16+ 10 works
