Mikey, I've told you this a thousand times but, you're a great teacher! I make hats for babies at my local hospital. I am gonna make a blanket for the newborns and preemies. Thank you so much!

Hi! I watch a lot of your videos but I don't comment because everyone else had already read my mind..anyways..I had NO idea you've been around for so long! I only discovered your channel a year ago. I was trying to follow your ' Journey Blanket ' and a this stitch was my nemesis! So I did a search for learning and here you are! I picked it up almost immediately! Once I realized that the " cross " went up the back I had it! Ya! Anyway I'm excited to watch your previous older videos! Thanks much! Love from Plymouth PA!

It looked so easy, then I tried it and the whole going behind and twisting got me confused. I tried it at least 3 times and then suddenly I got it and it was easy after that. I think some of it was the wording and just the angle of camera, somethings are just easier seen in person. Thanks again for the great lessons!

Okay...got it! It took me 4 times of going back to see how it is done but I've got it now. It's a pretty stitch. Very good lesson.

I love this stitch! I made a scarf using this stitch, and everyone loved it. When gardening season started I kind of put the crochet on hold in the spring. Now that fall is here, I plan to take my crochet back out and keep working on projects. I am excited once again! I'm not quite ready to make an afghan yet. I want to learn hats first! :)

lol, for some reason I kept going to the front to do this stitch when I first attempted a while ago. Now that I see how Mikey's done it, I'm feeling more confident in doing this stitch more often :) Thanks for the upload ^.^

I use this criss cross stitch row alternating with a double crochet, chain one, double crochet in the next row for a kisses and hugs (Xs and 0s) pattern. The kisses are the X or criss cross and the double crochet, chain 1 (space), double crochet makes up the hugs (or 0s) in the next row. It keeps the cross stitch or criss cross rows all facing the same way and makes a nice pattern. I have used for infinity scarves, vests, hats, and dishcloths. One of my favorite stitch combinations.

I bet you could just follow the same idea and use the tc instead and your stitches will be longer Cathy@ the Crochet Crowd :)

@cometmoon I think it will be fun to use both ways. It makes that you can let your work look different.

You do the criss cross stitch picking the second stitch from the back.. As child I have leared it by picking up the second stitch at the frond.. That gives it an other look. Butch it is a second way to do it. (I learned to crochet about 55 years ago.).
@Simunaya13 жыл бұрын
@Momwithahook Yes it is aways fun to have more stitches. I'll still make lots of things.

It's a very pretty stitch...After you double crochet the first stitch, it's sort of hard to see where the criss cross stich is going into. Will have to watch very closely again...

Mickey, I am trying the Red Heart pattern Yule Tree Throw & pillow. I am having a little trouble with the 2/2 back cross & 2/2 front cross stitches. I was hoping they are done like this, just 2 stitches instead of one. Could you explain it at all please?

I notice that when you YO, you are actually yarn UNDERing.. I've never seen this before! :-) Is this just the way you do it?
@TheCrochetCrowd7 жыл бұрын
At the time, I used to crochet like that for my life... but then once I got a major sponsor, I was asked to change my wrapping to match the books instead. So my mother showed me this way... but the standards of crochet say it's incorrect. So I adjusted in time.

I just CANNOT understand this stitch!!! I have watched 9 times in 2 days and I just can't understand it.! is it because I'm lefty? I get something that looks like a Y rather than an X, can someone shed some light for me please?
