Crochet Crop Sweater Pattern and Tutorial

Deidra is a simple crochet crop sweater pattern with so many possibilities to make as long or short as you like! Ever worked crochet cables in short rows? They are so much fun! With deep cuffs, an easy fit and cables galore this sweater is much more straightforward than you might think to make!
A stunning knit look crochet sweater pattern in adult sizes XS to 5XL (bust 30” to 62”) using worsted weight yarn and just yarn over slip stitches and half double crochet stitches. Worked from the bottom up in 2 panels that are seamed to help you create exactly the boat neckline and sleeves that you want.

Difficulty is Intermediate (but great for adventurous beginners!)
Materials and tools:
Hook: 5mm (H) crochet hook and 4.5mm (G+) or sizes needed to obtain gauge. Aff: shrsl.com/3vmzi
Suggested Yarn: Swish Worsted by WeCrochet.

100% Superwash Merino Wool (110yds / 100m /50g)
Approx yarn requirements: XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
Balls: 11 (12, 13, 15, 17) (19, 20, 22, 23)
Yards: 1115 (1230, 1410, 1633, 1840) (2065, 2195, 2325, 2520)
Please note that if you choose to change the length of the sweater you will need extra yarn.
Sizing:
XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
To fit bust (inches): 30 (34, 38, 42, 46) (50, 54, 58, 62)
Gauge:
15 sts x 13 rows = 4" x 4" / 10 cm x 10 cm measured over main set pattern (blocked).

I’m just in love with the color 💕😍 I actually tried reading the pattern and doing it without watching your video. I did the first part of the 2nd row. However, I got confused to continue the repeat of row 2. Now watching you demonstrate row 2, I saw where I went wrong. The understand and LEARNED about using the 3rd loop of the HDC. Ok so I’m gonna restart because this is just sooo 😍 pretty. And the YO SS is really nice too 😊sooo excited 😆

Love this!! I'm considering to buy the pattern buy i would like to add a ...Sorry i don't know the right Word...neck maybe? Some ribbing over the neck line or a turtle neck. I'm Always cold and don't wear boat neck sweter! Do you think Is It possibile?

Thks for this tutorial. Makes it much easier than the written pattern, The only thing I am struggling with the yo slst and my hook. Almost every stich I have to pull the yo by hand over the tip of my hook. The reason is probably the throat of my hook. I now am using a Addi hook. Can you pls suggest a better hook for yo slst?

Hi Anne :) So sorry I've only just seen your message! I used to be like this too and I switched my hook to a Furls and now a Dot Hook and they work brilliantly for this. I think it's just time and relaxing your tension though that will help. I sometimes also twist the tip of my hook to make it go through the loop the other way and find that helps :)
