CROCHET CROSS STITCH BLANKET

THIS LOVELY CROSS STITCH BLANKET IS A JOY TO WORK.
I USED A DK YARN AND 4 mm HOOK.
THE CHAINS ARE WORKED IN MULTIPLES OF 8 + 3
FOR THE SWATCH I USED
Ch 24 + 3 (total 27ch).
THE NUMBER OF CHAINS NEEDED TO START BLANKETS OF DIFFERENT WIDTHS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
20” Approx: 88 ch + 3
30” Approx: 136 ch + 3
36” Approx: 168 ch + 3
ROW 1
Sc in 2nd st from hook
Sc in each ch to the end (total 26 sc)
ROW 2
Ch3, sk 2, 1 treble in each of the next 2 sts.
WORKING BEHIND THE TREBLES work 1 tr in first skipped st then 1 tr in next skipped stitch.
Sk 2, 1 treble in each of the next 2 sts.
WORKING IN FRONT OF THE TREBLES work 1 tr in first skipped st then 1 tr in next skipped stitch*
Repeat from to to the last stitch, work 1 tr in the last stitch.
Repeat row 2 for the pattern.
Finish with 1 row of sc. Optional.

For the 36" blanket, how much yarn would one need??

Using the dk divante yarn and a 4mm hook you will need approximately 810g for a 36" x 36" blanket. There are 140g in each ball therefore 6 balls should be enough. The stitch is beautiful but it is a real yarn eater 🙂
