I was so hesitant to do the ring this way, I thought I was already doing it as “easily” as i could. But after whipping out 4 legs in the time it would’ve taken to fuss over 1 typical (for me) magic ring, I’ve for sure been convinced otherwise!! I love this pattern. I have made several, some with 3 thinner yarns. As the mom of a dinosaur source of all information and a retired science teacher myself, I feel the need to correct a small thing. There is no Brontosaurus. It is an apatosaur. The apatosaur was discovered and named first and the brontosaur very shortly after. Now my son can leave me alone LOL.
@@PinkPossibly first, make sure your hook is aligned with the middle of the legs (if you need to do another sc or four that’s fine) then you start round 10: 6sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc. Or something like that I think. When they say (2sc, dec) x 6 it means you do 2sc, dec 6 times, it’s like the short hand way of writing patterns. Hope this helps.

I am also definitely off by the count as well(in the opposite direction)but try paying special attention to where the leg and body connects, bc when going around it can look like you are "skipping" stitches but you're not. 19:22 so I see that it says 7sc,2dec,(sc,dec). What does the parentheses indicate? Do I do the 7sc and the 2 dec and then another sc and dec?
@CC-dv8ib10 ай бұрын
So if you are talking about round 9 the way to read that would be to do 7sc then 2dec then to do what is written in the parentheses (sc,dec) the amount of times indicated aka 3 times. so if written without using parentheses you would do as follows : 7sc, 2dec, sc, dec, sc, dec, sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 3sc, dec, 5sc. this would give you a total of 30 final stitches which is what the last parentheses not followed by a number means. How is Row 3 coming up to a count of (40) when I'm getting (16), even when you count the stitches written on the screen it comes out to 16. This part is messing me up really bad, can anyone explain what she means? I was always told the the number in ( ) at the end is the ending stitch count. How is it possible that row 3 equals 40??
@Ikaitana5 ай бұрын
Because it's counting the outside of the legs. Because you start with 16 stitches right? Them you take away 2 stitches per leg Because you attached each leg with two stitches and your not going through those stitches anymore. So that's 8 stitches your taking away since there 4 legs. So now you have 8 stitches. Because 16-8= 8. Each leg has 10 stitches around. Take away the 2 stitches I mention earlier. So went attached to the body each leg has now 8 stitches. In Row 3 your counting the legs as the round. So you have 8 stitches per leg. There is 4 legs so 8x4=32. And then you add 8 that I mention before. And that equales 40 stitches. Hope that made since❤
