Hello, yes you can make them with out the elastic, you could try using a smaller hook and working a round of c=single crochet to make the wrists tighter

Love all your projects, and these gloves will be great for donating to Retirement village recipients. Question? Where do your get the "Tulip" crochet hooks and also the yarn you use. Would appreciate a reply as I do a lot of items for those retirement homes. Thanks again for great projects.

Thank you for this tutorial Claire. Have since made the mitts plus #anklebootcuffs using same pattern. I did it using one colour #aranyarn to match a #parkacoat of mine and in persuit of making #anklebootcuffs for my daughter. Would like to show you but not sure whete to send it so you can see them

Not a chance ;) OOhh opps, make the granny as wide as you need it to cover one side of your hand, then make another sqaure the same, then join the yarn as normal :)
