This is a great alternative, thanks for your video. This is my favorite inlay method. It's definitely the neatest and has the best presentation, in my opinion.

Hi everyone...i use bobbins and dont do the carry over and get a clean project without lots of ends to weave. 2 white bobbins and 1 orange an just a small bobbin for the stem. Luv u tiffany. Thanks for the great project. I'm going to do this. If u all want to do the carry over make 2 squares an crochet both tog w wrong sides touching for a cute potholder

This is exactly what I’m excited for! I’ve done intarsia with knitting, but I wasn’t sure if it would be done in the same way for crochet, which it looks like it is! So exciting!! Thank you Tiffany!!! Oh, by the way, I ended up using a different earring finding for your earrings (it’s a continuous hoop with a hinge that lifts up off of the part that goes into your ear), and it worked out perfectly! I’ll try to remember to take a picture of them and post it on Instagram tomorrow, and tag you so you can see them. Thank you for sharing! 💜🧶

I personally use bobbins because I like having it clean on both sides, especially for blankets, and refuse to weave in more ends than absolutely necessary lol love the pattern and gives me some ideas for things I wanna make. ❤

Amazing! There's also a third method you can use to minimise the ends you need to weave in and avoid the big yarn floats too - either use two balls of white or divide one white into two balls (or use both ends of the same skein, or cut several yards and create a butterfly skein with it/wind it around a piece of card to keep it from tangling) and then use one part of the white for before the pumpkin, then the orange for the pumpkin itself, and the second part of the white for after the pumpkin. That way, you get far fewer ends and no big floats. And for the smaller ones, you can also carry the colour in the same way you would crochet in ends. I guess because I've knitted for a good while now and created my own knitted intarsia patterns, a lot of this feels similar. It's just about remembering to end the stitch with the next colour, so I don't get the blip etc. Having the colours marked on a visual chart makes it a lot easier though. I can't wait to give it a go.

Yes! I have seen that method too! Honestly, it is probably the best method. That’s just a lot of information. 😄. I’m hoping to do this project again but with something for Christmas. I might show this method then. I bet people will like it. Plus it’s fun showing people multiple ways of doing something. 😁❤️🧶

Hi Tiffany. Cute project. But can't you carry the white along under the orange and pick it up as you need it? Work over it just like when you work over your ends. Just a thought. Thanks for the tutorial 😊
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany 2 жыл бұрын
That is definitely another way you could work this pattern. Crocheting over the second color is called Stranding. Depending on the project I find that you can still see the second color that you are crocheting over and I may choose to avoid that for a richer color presentation. But yes you could absolutely do this method to create this pumpkin inlay as well. 😊❤️🧶

This is so cute! Question- why not just crochet over the yarn that you are carrying over; like crocheting over a tie in piece?
@Scorpio_Love_11
@Scorpio_Love_11 2 жыл бұрын
That is how I would do it. Uses much less yarn than cutting it each time
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany 2 жыл бұрын
You could absolutely do that method! The method you are referring to is called Stranding. I find that I can often times see the second color that I am crocheting over and depending on the project, if I want a more solid/richer color Stranding isn’t the best for me. But yes! You could absolutely do that as well. 😊🧶❤️

Hi Tiffany! I have a question regarding the "pullover" method. I recently saw another person crocheting, but she laid the outer color across the top (i.e. white across the row) and then crocheted the inner pattern (orange stitches) with the outer color (white) inside the stitch. When changing back to the outer color (white) she just dropped the inner color (orange) until she returned to it in her pattern. Have you ever tried this? I would be interested in a tutorial if you have done it. I'm not sure, but I think she used hdc, and her outer color did not show through her inner color. She was using white and light green, I think. It wasn't a tutorial, she was just crocheting during a chat. If you can figure this out, I'd love to see how it's actually done. Blessings from Middle TN, La'Del Cassidy

Hi La’Del! I think I know the technique she was using. I believe it’s the Stranding Method. I do plan on doing another tutorial soon showing this technique and the Bobbin technique. Haha there are so many ways to do things it’s crazy sometimes. 😄. Thank you for asking though. Yes! It’s coming. 😊❤️🧶
