The design on this shawl is gorgeous and I love the colors on this one as well as your first test one. I'm having a tough time trying to decide which shawl out of all the ones I have seen, that I will choose as my first ever shawl to make!

Cheers for sharing, lovely :) ♡ I totally agree that Spotlight's prices have been faint-inducing for minute quantities of craft essentials. Had a laugh the other day when I had to prioritise notions over yarn. Thank God for quarterly sales + kindly staff :D Sending you love from Singapore. Xx

You are an absolutely brilliant teacher. Thank you. I was wondering I can use fingering yarn or other yarn for this pattern please?
@CrochetwithClare2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can!
@tatianakhassine19682 жыл бұрын
@@CrochetwithClare Thank you. Would the yarn amount be the same please? Sorry to ask, I'm not an expert in converting different yarns to a pattern
@CrochetwithClare2 жыл бұрын
@@tatianakhassine1968 neither am I. I would say it will be more to get the shawl the same size because the yarn is thinner and will create a smaller project
@chilsond16 жыл бұрын
I just love the blueish green yarn you used on the other shawl shown. What was the yarn used for that one?

I have 5 weight yarn should I use a 8 hook? Love the project can't wait to start it. Love your tutorials...
@CrochetwithClare3 жыл бұрын
hello, it depends on what you are making. chunky yarn may be too thick for this shawl. most yarns will also label the size hook they recommend for the yarn. it may be an L/8mm or a M/9mm crochet hook
@patriciaholden78246 жыл бұрын
Really like how this is turning out. I could not find the yarn you are using. I'm using red heart fashion soft Carribean and red heart fashion soft bright pink these were as close as I could get. I hope mine looks as nice as yours.
@CrochetwithClare6 жыл бұрын
the yarn i am using is new and found on redheart.com. I am sure yours will look beautiful.

Can I use any other yarn that is not wool? I live in Miami, Florida and it's pretty warm here. What about 100% cotton yarn from Red Heart? ay recommendations?
@CrochetwithClare6 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use any yarn that you have available. I think it will look great int he cotton yarn, what weight is it ? A worsted ?
@delladearest2511 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I plan on getting Lion Brand s 24/7 cotton yarn, it’s a 4 weight and it comes in many colors plus there’s a sale on at 3/10 !

Would Aran wool work?
@CrochetwithClare4 жыл бұрын
Yes :) The shawl will come out around the same size, maybe slightly larger if you follow the exact amount of rows
@vicki00026 жыл бұрын
Any help on how many rows for a 7 year old or how would I measure her so I know when to stop? Thanks. I'm using Red Heart with Love color Bluebell and a Red Heart Hot Pink.
@CrochetwithClare6 жыл бұрын
Hello, depending on how it is to be worn, I sized mine up by putting it on, the shawl is going to stretch if you block it (I will show you how to do that in the next section of the tutorial that will be released in 2 weeks) If you choose not to block it, it will stretch when it is first washed
@CrochetwithClare6 жыл бұрын
I just had a quick look ta the written pattern to see how big my shawl is. I am 175 cm tall and the shawl is 198 cm wide wingspan so if you make the 7 year old a tall as she is, it will be great for her to grow into - kids grow so quick :)
@vicki00026 жыл бұрын
Awesome. Thank you so much. I want to make me and my niece matching ones. I couldn't find the yarn you used yet so I substituted for the Love yarn.
