Hello. Yes you can use your yarn. It is the same bulky. So use the same size of crochet hook 😉

You said chain 7 for the thumb hole but then in the next round, you said place 6 sc in the chain. Is it 6 or 7?

Hello, you'll need one ball of each but it's better to have two balls of chenille yarn just in case. You can make a mistake for example..😊

You say to start with 7 sc in magic circle then round 2.. 2 sc in each and you should have 16 scs. This doesn't sound right.

Because it is magic circle and chain 1. This chain you have to count like sc. So 7 plus 1 is 8. In next round 16..
