Learn how to crochet an easy pocket shawl. I call this pocket shawl 'Lavender Fields' because of the pretty color yarn I used in the pattern. This crochet tutorial is suited for beginners with a bit of experience. You need to have a good sense of tension for this pattern, but other than that, this pocket shawl is made with just single crochets and double crochets! You're welcome! Do be mindful with the tension. I talk about it more in the blog post (you can find the link in the description box below). The ridges are done with a different tension than the body. You may also want to make it longer than I did, as I am quite short (5'1").

Hey I need help if my project is not the length after finishing how can I increase the length

You could add a few rows of the ribbing pattern that the shawl starts off with. If you do just 5 rows on each end that will give you about 3 extra inches in total. You could also add some tassels to create more length.

Hi, thank you for sharing your pocket shawl. I just finished the shawl portion and working on the pocket. I am getting more than 13 clusters (dc 2 together stitch ). My base was 25 sc. Any idea why? Any help you can offer is welcomed.

I'm not sure why you would get more than 13 clusters (it's actually 12 plus the beg ch 2 and 1 dc in the same stitch, which makes 13). The patterns is exactly the same as the body of the shawl, but you've completed that without any problems? The only thing I can think of is that you may be working the cluster into just one sc, rather than two sc's? I'm sorry, I wish I were there to see!!!

I made a pocket shawl a little wider but I see it's bulging do you know why?? Thank you

Perhaps it is a bit too big in proportion to the shawl, or if it wasn't sewn on perfectly flat, it could also be the weight of the yarn...it's hard to say. But a simple solution could be to sew a basting stitch along the top of the pocket to gather it in a bit, and you could even do the same thing lower down on the pocket, just as a way to pull the fabric in a bit. Otherwise, you may want to make a smaller pocket, perhaps using a crochet hook 1/2 size smaller. Hope that helps!
