@madamcod that's because with crochet the first couple lines are looser than the rest... but then as you work the project stabilizes... Good observation and you are welcome for the free tutorials.

not sure if i understand your question.....if you don't go back and front you wont have the ribbing effect....if you want to go for a flat look in your rows but always work in the front your project rows will have a bit of a ridged look you could totally do that if thats the look your going for .....hope that helps....Cathy@ the crochet crowd helpdesk :)

Hi, I'm big fan of yours and I've learnt a lot from your tutorials. I'm trying to do the rib stitching in a hat but I have problem when I'm closing the circle. It seems like a big gap there. What is your advise? Where do you think I'm wrong? Thank you
