@bellacococrochet2 жыл бұрын
I would look at a corner to corner method such as the one shown in my tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2aqanyDZ5l_fLc 😊 I also have a tutorial for a granny stitch version. Both of these begin as triangle and increase along the long edge; if you made two you could join them along the top to make a poncho.

thank you very much for this video. i didn't know this stitch and it is beautiful. you are really good at explaining what to do! i have just done a small swatch and it looks really nice. i have two questions if that's ok. 1) i think you said to do a chain for the width of the scarf so that would mean the ridges are horizontal. is that correct or should the foundation chain be for the length of the scarf? and 2) you said to carry on with row 3 to the end but should the end be with a row 1 and row 2 to match the beginning? or maybe even row 2, then finish on row 1 so it really matches? don't know if i am complicating this too much..... any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much.

How do you change colour when crocheting the royal ridge stitch.
@bellacococrochet Жыл бұрын
As this stitch is worked over a one row repeat you can change colour at the end of any row by following the technique used in my tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aajbfoRjlKitadU You'll be able to create different effects by changing every row, every two rows, every three rows etc so I would experiment and see what you prefer 😊

@sarahpotter16743 жыл бұрын
I’d like to use this stitch for a blanket for my boyfriend: an easy repeat with no gaps that isn’t multiples of XX plus XX. My question is for changing it to a US half triple crochet to make the repeat slightly taller, as my chosen yarn is frustratingly light, would I chain 2 at the end of row two, or 3? Any suggestions would be helpful, as it’s a 3 weight yarn calling for a 4MM hook (Caron Skinny Cake), so nothing dense I’ve found looks very good. I just want to avoid holes for toes to get stuck in, why is this so hard!!!!
@bellacococrochet3 жыл бұрын
If you want to make the stitch slightly taller I would work a regular treble crochet (a US double crochet), and for this I would chain 2 😊 If you are having trouble with your crochet working up with gaps you can move down a hook size - the recommended hook size is exactly that; a recommendation, and you should change it to suit you if necessary 😊
