If I am making slippers for the house I make the slippers as usual then crochet a separate sole out of cotton twine which lasts longer and then sew the twine sole onto the sole of the slipper. The twine lasts much longer than simply the wool and I find one pair of slippers will last me all the winter this way.

When I made mine(US size 6), it’s very narrow. But if I size up my hook, it becomes too long. Can a child’s foot really fit on such a narrow sole? How do I widen it without lengthening it?

I don't have a child size pattern yet, just adult and baby. I hope to work on one in the future. You could try the size small sole and not do the last row. It would probably be about 7-8" in length though.

What is the finished width of the slipper? I need to make a wide sole with regular length.
@StephanieZed5 жыл бұрын
I am not sure of the exact width probably about 2.5" or 6.3 cm. If you need wider, do 24 Hdc instead of single crochet down the sides, on rows 2 or 3 or both. That would be for the Size Small Sole.
