Robin, thank you for the heart. I want you to know that I always make my shawls big and comfy. I am only 4 foot eight or nine, and weigh about 100 pounds. I turned 81 on September 11. I love wrapping myself, in a big, warm shawl. The solid granny will, I think, always be my favorite because it does. What a show is meant to do. A proper jaw is meant to keep one warm and comfy. This shawl it’s Seville.❤ I apologize for any typos or misspellings. I am legally blind, and I like to use the speaker function of my iPad Pro. It’s a big help, but sometimes it seems to have a mind of your own.

Oh! Finally! One that makes sense to me… you wear a shawl for warmth… while all the other shawl patterns are very pretty… they are extremely holey… not sure how that will keep you warm! Thank you! Definitely starting one tonight and I have the perfect yarn for that too! ❤

This is the one I've been searching for, an easy and effective solid triangle pattern. :) Others are pretty enough, but never shape up naturally in a perfect triangle without some blocking done. This pattern is simply beautiful and effortless to do, without working in ch3s at the edges.Thank you so much.

Robin, thank you so much for this tutorial. I have used this pattern many times, and I have to say that it is my favorite show. It creates a nice soft wrap to cuddle up in. I have one that I made out ofPuzzle yarn that I use nearly every day. I absolutely love it, and I am getting ready to make another one in a different colorway. This show works up quickly, and always looks great. No wonder you have had so many request for it. Sandy, from Cincinnati

Well, here I am crocheting yet another one of your beautiful shawls. I am working this one up in "Feels like Butta" in the color way of Dusty Blue. This is going to be the softest and coziest of all of them. I think I have made about 10 of your granny and solid granny shawls. I love them all. I made one HUGE one with 3 large skeins and it is almost like a blanket. I can't wait for cooler weather to sit by the fire wrapped up in my shawls. Thank you so much, your granny shawl was the very first thing I learned to crochet and there is no stopping me now.

I made this shawl and love it, but the sport weight yarn made it a bit of a challenge to keep it on while wearing it, when the shawl was a bit shorter. So, for my second shawl I modified it a bit and I am thrilled with the results. What I did was to do a second increase at the start and end of each of the first ten rows, in the second and next to the last stitch of each of these rows. After ten rows, I only made the increase in the first and last stitches (as well as at the center back, of course). These additional few stitches made it so that the middle of the top of the shawl curves slightly in the area that falls at the neck, so it wraps more naturally around the neck and shoulders. For Christmas I am making shawls out of Red Heart Heat Saver yarn, which has a great deal of body to it, I would say it is almost stiff, really. But by modifying the neck, it wraps beautifully around the neck and shoulders in a more natural way, so the shawl fits better and stays in place without trying to fall down the wearer’s back. With softer yarns, it would not be needed, but with yarns that have more weight, it is a small change that makes a big difference. Hope this helps!

I see you are using a Clover H-8 hook. I love my Clover hooks. They are so comfortable in my hand. The best part is that each size has it’s very own color. Thus us a huge help for those of us who are visually impaired. A tip... Rsje a picture if your project, with the hook you are using right on top of it.. That way, you will never have to worry about forgetting what size you are using...

Later: The hardest part was getting the magic ring right! I always have trouble with it.. but it works.. The pattern is so easy.. The best part is that I think the pattern will work well with the Ice Cream Parfait yarn I am using.. The whole point is to not have to knit the shawl... Knitting takes way too long, snd I make too many mistakes. Thank you again, for solving my problem,, Added.. I am nearly done with my pretty shawl. And I am already planning another one...i want to use a warmer yarn next time. The Lion Brand Ice Cream Parfait produced a very pretty fabric... all warm, well saturated pastels, with no white. I’m very happy with the shawl, and I hope my friend likes it.
