Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZbin yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. I am SO glad you made this tutorial. I needed to make corner page bookmarks. The only other tutorial I found was absolutely terrible. Dear Robin, Thank you again and again for this short and to the point video. It has proven to be one of the most serviceable shawl tutorials. I’ve missed stitched, added chains, crocheted in the wrong stitch, and the bloody thing always comes out looking like a million bucks! I am very new to crocheting and I am having a difficult time knowing what to do after you stop in the video. I am unsure if I turn my work and if I keep doing the chain 3 into the 3rd stitch. I love what you have helped me do so far. I have crocheted and pulled it out 7 times due to being confused. I have watched the video probably 50 times. I have accomplished what you have shown, but after that, I draw a complete blank. Lack of confidence I suppose. At any rate, I am never going to surrender and I will keep at it until I get it. Ok so first thing is to not get frustrated with yourself! Everyone starts somewhere (and yep, totally sucks to feel like a newb!) You turn your work for every new row. So, turn your work, chain 4 then up the sides do your 3 double crochet, chain 1 all the way up the side until you reach the triangle peak middle bit. In that middle bit you put 3 double crochet, chain 3 and 3 double crochet ALL into the same space. Then down the other side you chain one, pop 3 double crochet into the space all the way down to the end. Then you chain one and pop a double crochet into the 3rd chain of the chain 4 from the row below. Turn, do it again! Chain 4, 3double crochet chain 1 all the way to the top, do your middle peak of 3 double crochet, chain 3 and 3 double crochet all in the same space then back down the other side, chain 1 3 double crochet until to reach the end - chain 1 and pop a double crochet into the 3rd chain of the 4th chain. Keep doing that until it gets as big as you want it to be! I like my shawls massive 😂

I remember making this shawl 20 years ago. The difference was I used trebles instead of doubles because of its scale, trebles work better. The biggest drawback is that you have to go back-and-forth and therefore messing up the pattern. So I decided when I got to the end of the row that I would do a row of single crochet on every stitch. The effect was wonderful. Just a thought if you want to try that.

It was all trebles, but when I got to the end of the row, I single crocheted across the top of each treble so it would keep all the stitches facing one way. I hope that makes sense. Now of course I didn’t allow for British crochet terms.
