Thank you for your videos. I’m not a beginner but I can only crochet straight lines. Your videos are very helpful in learning a new technique

Thank you for sharing this! I’m pretty sure this is the willow pattern a lady used to make a sweater. Beautiful!!!! I’ve never made wearables and I think I’m going to attempt making these and giving a sweater a shot.

You are welcome. I named this one on a whim a few years ago and I have come to learn there are many different squares called Willow out there. Popular name. So glad you like this one and hope you do try making a sweater, it will be beautiful.

I made it like the picture in red white and green and added another color Aaron. I used all Red Heart Super Saver yarn.

Thank you for this tutorial. However I'm a bit confused reg rounds nine and ten. In your chart that I got from your shop these rounds have chain-one spaces between every sc-stitch but here you seem to skip them. Is this correct and if so why? I haven't got any written text in the purchased version so I can't check it there.

For this Square there is an old version and a new version and a youtube tutorial for both. The new version uses the ch 1 spaces and the old version is a solid stitch for these rounds. I'm not sure what pattern you might be looking at, but the only pattern available in my shop has charts in black and white and colour and written patterns for both the new version and the old version.

I give up! I've tried to comment this four or five times now and I'm interrupted every time but I only want to say that the completion of the Wispy Willow Square ended up successfully so whatever it was/is with my PDF-Version it is overplayed now and I'm very satisfied and happy to have done another Granny from You.

I just finished making this square and I just wanted to thank you for your straightforward and easy to understand tutorials. I needed to use a 6mm hook to work with my tension so I've ended up with squares that measure 20cm x 20cm, so quite large squares, but am really happy with how it looks. I'm so grateful that you are here to show us so that we can look clever recreating these masterpieces, but of course you get all the credit, I'm just following along! :) I ended up making this by accident, as I was trying to find a square to go with the Little Skye that I made just before this one, and thought this would match but they don't really go together, so now I'll just find another square that goes with this, make two of each and join them together to make a cushion cover with these instead! If you have a suggestion of which one would suit this Wispy Willow square I'd be grateful. I don't mind making more, it means I get to try out making some more of your squares so it's a fun journey! Thanks:) I really appreciate that the squares look very ornate and intricate but are actually quite easy to make, so just like how I cook I love when something looks like it was difficult and a lot of work but was actually simple to put together, perfect! PS - I just want to also thank you for opening my eyes to how white can help so much as being part of a colour scheme in a square. I hadn't really done this before as I am still not too far along in my granny square learning's and hadn't invested in white yarn as I thought it was a bit of a boring colour, but I can see now how it helps to make all the other colours pop! I made the Little Skye with a light to medium blue, then light grey, medium green, lighter green and then cream, then even lighter green and light grey for the border and those colours worked in my head but didn't come out as well as I would have liked. For this square I've just used light grey, white and sort of a bottle/medium green. alternating throughout, and it looks much better! So with more practice and following along with your guidance I'm hopefully going to improve as I go, and have a lot of fun along the way! :)

Thank you so much, I love hearing how these squares are received by others. It is so great that you are enjoying the videos. I do want to do one on colours and how neutrals like white can let the other colours have room to breathe, it is alot of trial and error but there is something to giving the colours a bit of space to show themselves off. I suppose it is like music, you need the pauses to appreciate the other moments of the song. Perhaps white would be called the "dramatic pause". I do alot of trial and error before I am happy with my colour combos, some I think will be awesome and I get so disappointed with them, others are a very pleasant surprise. That is what creativity is about I guess. The Wispy Willow is pretty easy to pair with another as it goes nicely with alot of other squares. If you need to match sizes just added a few more border rounds to bring them up to the same size to use together. Enjoy and thanks again for your lovely comment! 😊

I tried to download the pattern but you are asking for a credit card to access a freebie. No one does that. Sorry but you can’t have my credit info “just because.” That’s like sending you money as a gift for no reason.
