Materials Required
1 skein/ball of Red Heart Super Saver Turqua Yarn (medium worsted weight, category 4) - 2 hats can be made from 1 skein/ball.

Note: ch 2 = 1 dc st
CROWN
Make a magic ring.
Rnd 1: ch 2, 15 dc into the ring, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (16 sts)
Pull on yarn tail to tighten center. Weave in yarn tail with a yarn needle.
Rnd 2: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into next st, rep from * around to the last st, 2 dc into last st, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (24 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 2 sts, rep from * around to the last 2 sts, 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into next st, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (32 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, rep from * around to the last 3 sts, 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 2 sts, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (40 sts)
Rnd 5: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 4 sts, rep from * around to the last 4 sts, 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (48 sts)
Rnd 6: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 5 sts, rep from * around to the last 5 sts, 2 sc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 4 sts, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (56 sts)
Size Notes:
For a Small to Medium Size - skip Rnd 7 and move onto Rnd 8 and follow the rest of the pattern.
For a Medium to Large Size - continue onto Rnd 7 and follow the rest of the pattern.
Rnd 7: ch 2, * 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 6 sts, rep from * around to the last 6 sts, 2 dc into next st, 1 dc into each of the next 5 sts, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (64 sts)
SIDES
Rnd 8: ch 2, 1 dc into next st, FPdc around each post of next 2 sts, * 1 dc into each of next 2 sts, FPdc around each post of next 2 sts, rep from * around to the end, sl st into top of ch-2 to join. (Small to Medium Size - 56 sts, Medium to Large Size - 64 sts)
Rnds 9 to 18: Rep Rnd 8. (Small to Medium Size - 56 sts at the end of each rnd, Medium to Large Size - 64 sts at the end of each rnd)
BRIM
Rnd 19: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as join, 1 sc into each of next 2 sts, 2 sc into next st, * 1 sc into each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc into next st, rep from * around to the end, sl st into top of 1st sc to join. (80 sts)
Rnd 20: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as join, 1 sc into each of next 3 sts, 2 sc into next st, * 1 sc into each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc into next st, rep from * around to the end, sl st into top of 1st sc to join. (96 sts)
