Tips about the raglan : 1- Make more rows in the back before you join in the round. For better fitting sweater. (Because the back in higher than the front). 2- make more stitches in the front when you make your raglan to give space for your bust. (specially for big boobs girls) then decrease in the body. 3- you can crochet elastic around the neck if it’s dragging down. I really like your sweater and looking forward see more sweater like this ❤❤❤

Hold the yarn going from the swift to the wonder. Adds extra tension and winds up tighter and neater. :)
@awilson85219 ай бұрын
This!
@jeweldeeves70289 ай бұрын
If you’re not planning to use the yarn immediately putting that extra tension on your yarn can be bad for it in the long term. Especially any natural fibers.
@AgithaCreates9 ай бұрын
@@jeweldeeves7028 that's why you wind it twice! the second go round it'll be looser and not add too much extra tension to the yarn

When you have yarn cakes, do not do a center pull! That way you don’t get the tangles. Got me all fired up as well. But now I’m a very happy and calm yarn-cake-user 😁☺️

This yarn worked up so beautiful! I love top down sweaters, once you get the gist you can use different stitches, make the neck a cowl, you can do whatever you want. I adore making sweaters 😄

Totoro, what a good kitty for being so helpful 🥰 Really love the spring/ lemon-lime colours, so exciting seeing how much yarn they sent you in that box!!
@killjoyyous9 ай бұрын
absolutely love this sweater you’ve created!! such lemon summer vibes! by the way you can absolutely do a tapestry design on a raglan sweater, just have to use single crochet, 2 balls of yarn for the background color to go round and round haha and to flip the design upside down, oh and make sure you’re not putting the design on the sleeve! lol i think a raglan sweater with one of the other colors with a solid-color tapestry design would be to. die. for!!! love your videos like always
@melissabrown15409 ай бұрын
Love that you tried a raglan! If you’d like some unsolicited advice, maybe try using a smaller hook for the collar and ribbing next time. It helps it stay nice and proportionate with the rest of the stitches. Love you and your videos! I watch every week❤
@faithdockendorff47479 ай бұрын
Yes! A smaller hook would have tightened it up and made it feel ore secure.

The SW yarn means super wash, it's treated to make it feel really soft. The colors are all in different places because it's painted yarn. ❤ When you take the skein off, put a toilet paper tube or folded label inside the middle. You can also put it in a cozy to keep it together. Like a drink cozy for your drink. You can criochet those, too 😊 you can weave some thin elastic cord around the neckline with a tapestry needle to make the neck stop stretching.
@sweethaven59 ай бұрын
19:40 I had the same problem with my ball winder. I finally figured it out, after a few balls, is the tension. Also, as soon as I saw the ball start to get too big, I stopped (even though I was not done with my skein) and took the ball off the yarn winder and re thread the yarn back on to the yarn winder without cutting the yarn, but you could but mine was a variegated yarn and I didn’t want to mess the pattern up. Sure you will have a “train” of yarn, but since you have smaller yarn balls you won’t have any knots as much because the yarn isn’t trying to find a place to fit. I applaud you for trying something new!! It looks gorgeous ❤!! Thanks for sharing!!

normally I dont watch a lot videos that are in english because...comfort zones and such. Not my mother tongue. BUT. You are such a fun person! I love your humor and to watch your videos is always enriching, entertaining and inspiring. :3 thanks a lot for your work!

You gotta pull caked yard from the centre. And if you are inclined, make a little yarn cozy for your cakes. I have one for every size cake I own. The yarn clings to the inside of the cozy right down to the very end. You can take in with you and throw it in a bag… it never tangles. I’ve heard cut off panty hose work well too. I LOVE cakes. I cake all my yarn. And I’m so jealous you got yarn from Arcane Fibres. I’ve been watching their videos and drooling over their yarn for over a year now. Someday I’ll save up and order some.

If you ever wash or block the sweater beware that superwash (SW) grows a lotttt with washing. Adding elastic in the collar is the way to go.

Btw, @crafted.by.cat has an awesome top down sweater pattern called the Crescendo jumper. I’ve made it once as she wrote it with the stripes, and the other two times I used that Caron Cloud cakes self striping yarn with the same pattern. The neck is great on it and her pattern is clear .

i use a cut down to size toilet roll center or a hair tie to hold down the center pull of yarn when im winding, and then i have a hand holding the yarn from the guide to the winder itself for extra tension to stop it from winding around the bottom of the base.
@CallMeAL19 ай бұрын
I only make too-down options because I struggle to finish tops that are just 4 rectangles. And I always finish my sleeves before the torso section to avoid running out on the sleeves and then never finishing it. I can live with a crop top but not one sleeve 😅 also measure your arm length and then you can just use that as the template for your sleeves!

I just made this pattern from this creator for my mom and it was so easy to make. I’m a little surprised that your pattern didn’t have a bottom ribbing because mine had one and I made mine longer than the pattern was asking for. The sweater is so gorgeous, the pattern and the yarn just came together wonderfully. Is it weird that it reminds me of a lemon tree for some reason

Do you pull from the middle when using the yarn thats wound on the winder? I've never had this issue, I just pull from the middle. also make sure there's tension as u wind it. Also its erin b has a yt video on this type of sweater, but doesn't add the cuff around the neck, so you can add it on at the end how u would normally (if that makes sense)
