I crocheted a barrel cactus like yours a few weeks ago. It looked a bit plain so I took a tiny hook and pulled a bit of stuffing through to show up on the outside. If you look at pics of those barrel cactus you will see that they have a fuzz all over them around the thorns. You could also put the "face" on the cactus instead of the pot. I can't wait to see all the dragons that everyone has been making from your patterns.

Hi! I love watching your videos. I have learned so much. I was happy to hear you say that the Furls hooks were heavy and would take getting used too. I just bought one and I’ve never really used anything but the Walmart Boys brand. They are cheap and accessible. So, I want to try a higher rated brand. I wasn’t too excited about it because of what you just said, it feel bulky and odd in my hand. I just told my self maybe it’s the yarn I’m using and I just need to try it a little more. Hearing you say that makes me feel better. I am going to try it was different yarn, I was using 100% cotton which I use all the time but I couldn’t get into the groove what the Furls hook. Thanks for the great videos!

A really good hook that is mid price range is the Clover hooks. But they don’t have metal in the larger sizes. Everyone that I know that makes the plushies use the clover hooks. I need a big one to use with Bernat blanket so I’ll give a few more try’s because it is very different and the blanket yarn does glide smoothly across the hook.
