I have been re-watching Gilmore Girls for the umpteenth time with a friend of mine who has never watched it before and our weekly episode for the week was the basket episode! Also, I adore Wharton. So excited to see that you enjoyed Ethan Frome!

Aw, is anyone on the internet more adorable and wholesome as Carolyn is? I love your videos for many reasons...they are inspiring and comforting to name a couple. Also, there are 3 things we can be sure of in life: death, taxes and Carolyn's neighbors doing the mowing when she's filming lol.

One of your books you were trying to decide from at 5:10 was Flowers for Algernon...I haven't finished watching but if you didn't choose that book this round, oh Carolyn, you MUST read it! I am in my 40's and read it for the first time last year. It was SO BRILLIANT, so tender, so awwww just everything a book should be! It's why I choose classics over any other genre...PLEASE read it, my sweet bookish friend....you won't regret it. Edith Fromme is another favorite of mine. I read it last year to and fell in love with it. It was my first Fromme and I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. Brilliant! Both Flowers and Edith made it to my list of all-time favorites and I've been reading for 30 years!

Yes!!! I've heard such wonderful and heartbreaking things about Flowers for Algernon! I'm hoping to read it soon! Very glad to know you recommend it so highly! :) So happy to know you love Ethan Frome too! :)

I've read 'Death in the afternoon' and Ernest passion, knowledge and meticulousity when narrating and discribing the bullfighting world is intoxicating and very insightful, whether you agree with his views (which we have to remember they are of the 1930's). It's a non fiction work, which to be honest todays society can barely read, but man it is full of wisdom. Great video Carolyn.

This was so cosy! I'm so happy you enjoyed Ethan Frome. I'm not sure how I feel about the blurb of the book either, it feels very biased about the story. I think one of the best parts is that the narration makes it so subjective. I'm still not sure how I feel about the characters. I feel like the problem with The Age of Innocence is that the main character is a very boring man 😂 The stories in the little black classics collection is really good too!
@CarolynMarieReads3 жыл бұрын

No content!!! No real analysis. I am sure you cannot possibility read all these books and give them a personal interpretation. Crochete, ETF. Also I sent you a DVD of the BBC War and Peace without so much as a thank you..... no better than Clickbait
@CarolynMarieReads3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephan, I'm sorry you feel that way, it wasn't my intension for this video to come across as clickbait. I do feel I was able to give the books I read my full attention, and I enjoyed each one very much. I did receive the DVD of War and Peace, which I greatly appreciate! I usually send out thank you cards to people who write to me or send something, but since it came from Amazon there was no return address for me to send one to. With that being said, I'm very glad I can thank you now. I hope you're having a lovely day! Best wishes to you, Carolyn :)
