This is not relevant to the movie, but it is lovely to see a man in a suit, and an intelligent one, at that.

I liked this movie very much. I especially liked the fact that Miss Marple wasn't shoe horned into the plot like the TV movie. Not every Christie story needs Poirot or Miss Marple. I would love to see a well done adaptation of The Man in the Brown Suit. I think that is my favorite Agatha Christie novel.

The timing of your review is amazing. I was thinking about whether I should watch this or not just HOURS AGO. Thanks for your take. Much appreciated.

I’d held off watching it, as a lifelong Christie fan who’d been burned by those 2 nasty adaptations you mentioned, but I’ll definitely give this one a go now! 🌺🌺🇨🇦

I hope you enjoy it! There are deviations from the novel as I'd mentioned, but I think it does the story justice.

I love the use of the avenger theme in the beginning of your videos. Haza.

I'd forgotten about this movie, I remember being very excited to watch it when the trailer was first released, but then never ended up seeing it when it never got a physical release. I'm sure it's available to rent online somewhere though. Thanks for mentioning it!

One of my favorite Agatha Christie novels. I watched the adaptation when it first came out digitally and enjoyed it. I agree about the Phelps' adaptation, they are kind of gross and harbor the illusion that Christie's original stories were not as dark as they actually were
@HildebrandProductions11 ай бұрын
I'm glad you mentioned that. When I watched the behind the scenes documentary about the making of 'And Then There Were None', there were many comments from those involved about the adaptation exposing the darkness of the story in a way that the novel didn't. I'm not sure which novel they read though, because I've always found it and many others to have a very dark, foreboding atmosphere. But at the same time, the novels don't lose their entertainment value. The need to add supposed "grit" to these stories always ends up draining the enjoyment from them for me.

Did you watch the 3 TV movies with Agatha Christie solving murders : Agath & the Truth of Murder (2018), Agatha & the Curse of Ishtar (2019) & Agatha & the Midnight Murders (2020) ?

I actually just picked those up a month ago, so I haven't watched them yet but am hoping to in the near future.

Hildebrand have you heard of this KZbin channel Goodbadflicks. He does exploring videos and videos on forgotten films/TV shows . Originally Noirs were the b pictures which eventually became the drive in/grindhouse/direct to video films. What are your thoughts on unofficial remakes ie Body Heat is the Double Indemnity for the 1980s?

EXCELLENT REVIEW! I feel just as you so about (always) unneeded sex & profanity - but at 68 I'm likely twice your age, so it's extra cool coming from you.

I found this film disappointing. Christie herself stated that Crooked House was one of her personal favourites among her books. Why then try to embroider the story when the source material is so shockingly good?
