Yeah man. I don't know what's wrong with Royce . He on some yes massa type shit . As talented as Royce is he's been dying to get back under Eminem since 2004. Crooked I kept it real . I think Royce fits the sellout description that Crooked is talking about in this video. Dude I wouldn't be surprised if Crooked gets released from shady records for his stance.

BlackMusicGenre Please explain to me what that 'stance' is that would get Crooked released from Shady?
@BlackMusicGenre10 жыл бұрын
ihate Crooked I is not going with the status quo on this subject . That's why I said I wouldn't be surprise if he gets dropped, even though I know that's not going to happen, but if it did it wouldn't be a shock to my system. A lot of people can't stand Lord Jamar and Crook agreed with most of the things he was saying . Royce on the other hand feels like he has to be Eminem's guard dog or something . Eminem is a grown man. Hell, Em is older than Royce. I'm sure he can speak for himself . Do you honestly think that Eminem would go in that water for Royce like that if he had a legit beef and not this BS debating? I don't think so . Don't nobody in Slaughterhouse run to Em's defense quicker than Royce. It's getting ridiculous . Royce is damn near 40 years old and conducting himself like he's a high school kid . When Lord Jamar had something to say about white rappers and Em name was mentioned , here comes Royce needing to talk to Jamar on Twitter about it. Man you know it's bad when a female says that's not necessary. I've been listening to Royce for the last 16 years and I use to think he was an underdog in a way. Death Is Certain is his best album to date and I own a few other album from him too. I notice Royce didn't have nothing to say about what David Banner said in the BET cypher about white rappers hardly if at all speaking up on the murder of Mike Brown . All I'm saying is I'm just starting to look at Royce in a different light now. I know a brotha got pay the bills , but damn . Have some respect for yourself.
@AroundBLiIx10 жыл бұрын
BlackMusicGenre You are smart, I can see sense in what you wrote.. Still, how well do you know Em, Royce and Crooked? I can see you listen to them but do you like know their mentality and shit? I'm a hardcore Shady fan, Shady is meant as the label. Basically I know hear everything where the names of any Shady artists are mentioned. So I'm sorry if you will take this offencive but saying there is any chance of Crooked getting dropped from Shady because of what he said here is really ridiculous. Nothing meant offencive here man. I would probablly maybe think a similar thing if I didn't knew the whole Shady camp, that's why I asked you how well you know them. See, their mentaliy is in one word just 'REAL' they are real, mature people who don't handle thing with firing somebody from the label in any way, They are all too mature, everybody knows what the other thinks and they are way to loyal. They are all as loyal as Royce is to Em, they just don't talk in that manner. Also you must know that Crooked dodged the question very fucking well here, he didn't wanted to show disrespect to Jamar, he didn't even answer what his opinion is on what Jamar said, he just said that he respects his opinion, and that people who responded to Jamar don't respect his opinion like he does, but he didn't said he agrees, he doged it very well. About Royce, you must know that Em is like a dad to Royce, he is his big bro or whatever. Em first brought Royce to the mainstream, then mentored him and after that in Royces words 'saved his life' with helping him get sober. Without Em, Royce would be on the streets hustling still all druged up. Royce just wants to show love back to his 'big bro' About Em... He just raps, doesn't know what is going on and doesn't even care, he would defend his bro, but not by going on VladTV. Em is Em. My point is: They are connected tighter than people might think in the Shady camp.. Kxng Crooked - '' Loyalty is royalty with these Shady royalties''

Crooked I won all my respect right here. Not only did he give out respect to Jamar, but still said the truth truth. There is no doubt that hip-hop was created by people with dark-colored skin ( I refuse to call them black people), and I don't understand why the people you call white even need to call their music "hip-hop" or "rap", cuz that don't even give them sales, and without trying to cut anybody off, I want y'all to ask yourselves who was the person or the people who made hip-hop such a commercial success, an empire worth billion of dollars, and I guarantee you it was rich "white" people - now obviously they did, and still do, invest in hip-hop mostly for the profit, but if y'all wanna change how hip-hop is portrayed nowadays, that's who you need to check imo! Peace and love!

I f*cks with Crooked hardbody. He's a brillant rapper and he has a LOT of character. Plus he didn't just REACT to what Jamar said he ACTUALLY broke sh!t down without specifically agreeing with him. 1. NO celebrity had a reaction to Em one way or another when he said called himself the "rap Elvis Presley who uses BLACK music so selfishly", but now everybody wants to crucify Lord Jamar. I'll particularly reference Yelawolf who's an Eminem-baby and all his did was issue threats. 2. Lord Jamar of Brand Nubian is one of the FEW people in a rap act that got FIVE MICS from the Source back when it was still credible enough to be considered the "Hip Hop Bible", making him part of a CLASSIC. A classic is something that is timeless but the main argument that Jamar-haters have is that he's "irrelevant". If he is one third of a CLASSIC, he is as relevant to hop hop as Mick Jagger is to rock n roll. 3. Kool Herc is largely given THE CREDIT for being the founder of hip hop and he is BLACK. Nevertheless I will state that hip hop is urban moreso than black, but the poverty stricken and oppressed urbanites not just ANYBODY that happens to be from a major city. 4. He addressed that many hip hop artists have been victims of oppression but once they get corporate sponsorship they want to switch up and play it safe. It's not just rappers or black people but a universal phenomenon that is going on. I'm not going to paraphrase the whole thing but he really went in. Big Up to Crooked, you are a monster homie :)

The debate is not if it's black music, hell yeah it is. The debate is if someone who smokes the mic is a guest or a culture vulture just cause he's white. Is it about talent or something else? Secondly, Crooked brings up a good point, some black folks took the hiphop culture to a really cheap level too so who's a culture vulture then? I'm 45 and I've been listening to hiphop almost since it started and I can't remember these debates about skin colour back in the day. HipHop united and I freaking loved that. The 80's and early 90's were kick-ass. Such a great time to be into HipHop. Ofcourse we didn't have the internet back then where peeps would sit on a chair talking about this shit for hours and hours. We had underground clubs, a stage and a mosh pit and if you were down you got down. Can't we just all love this music and just see who's dope and who's not regardless of ethnicity or whatever the fuck? If you're a gay purple dude but you spit nice I'll check that shit.

My argument is, going off of Jamar's analogy, is that I think Eminem has done enough in Hip Hop to be considered a resident than a guest. He has helped continue to build the house of Hip Hop. He has painted a wall, or put in a window, or built a door. The guys that started it built the foundations, and they were black, but the foundations were never the end of the process. Every young guy black or white had to keep working on it. The founders never owned it completely, they own part of its history but after that they had to let it take on a life of its own. The minute you try and strangle that idea is the minute Hip Hop begins to wither and die. When Hip Hop is no longer about reporting and unity and is instead about racial lines and ownership Hip Hop is fucking dead.

Lord Jamar is correct! Hip Hop was seen as ghetto music. Alot of White people weren't messing with it except those who probably grew up in the hood. It was music for a minority people to express themselves and it ended up being highly marketable. The culture of hip hop was exploited for profit not only by white people but African Americans as well. Noone talks about when black people exploited the culture to make money at the expense of their brothers and sister on the street who were killing themselves. KRS One himself talked about the reason hip hop went gangster in the 90s and why gangster rap was highly popular and marketable. It was so that more minorities from the ghetto would get incarcerated....And feed the pockets of those Jewish rich people who owned private prisons....and before any of you read this and want to feed me that " they weren't exploiting they were telling you the truth about the hood" BS , why didn't none of those rappers at the time portraying the gang life choose to state on their records" Yo I took a different route , don't bang...educate yourself." Why not huh? Don't be stupid man they wouldn't say that cause it wouldn't bring no money in for them. Their purpose was to make you love the gang life bruh, because it was cool to be gangster and if they were seen as cool their records would be bought. I guess being black means we can exploit our own people but not white people? That's hypocritical in my view. I've seen many rappers portray the story of the gangster life without glorifying it. Rappers like Nas and Kool G Rap and groups like The Fugees and Das EFX. Nevertheless its a part of our culture today whether it benefits us or not....I agree however that whites are guests in Hip Hop because of where hip hop has originated from. Being that white supremacy is a thing and blacks and minorities are discriminated against and treated unfairly , music and dance was our way of expressing ourself and creating a culture of our own. That's how the Hip Hop and breakdancing scene era came about. It came about out of the struggle of living in White man's america. Now that Hip Hop has evolved we can't say it is only for blacks because now it's much more than music of the hood or streets. It's global. There are people from all over the world of different ethnicities rapping now but it started in the cold streets of the Bronx USA. We can't stop someone from being a part of music but we must never forget where that music came from. It is indeed as Jamar put it a Black Thing. Hip Hop will always be a black thing. We have to own what is ours and stop letting everyone else claim it for their own benefit. You're welcome in hip hop white people but it's not yours. It came from black people.

Sure thing pal - and English isn't your language, it came from white people. You're free to speak and write it, but use some fucking spacing. A huge ass wall of text just means you're lazy. Talking about white supremacy and all that bullshit, Oprah is as rich as Trump. If that isn't proof anyone can succeed than you're just blinded by the victim culture the black community is plagued by - calling anyone who doesn't subscribe to the bullshit victim culture an 'Uncle Tom'. On one hand people say 'race is just a color' and in the same breath claim that a certain kind of music came from black people. So is there a difference between blacks and whites or not? Make up your damn mind. Black hip hop artists wouldn't make a dime if whites stopped going to concerts and buying songs, we all know 90% of the crowds at hip hop concerts are white.

The reason nobody said that when Em said he uses black music selfishly is because nobody is arguing that Hip Hop isnt black music predominantly, or originally, but lets be real, its a game of skill and appeal and its not the late 70s - early 90s anymore. Lord Jamar doesnt represent the mahority opinion of hip hop, and it hasnt been that for at least over a decade. He is living in the divisive past, and thats not where the culture lives. @desalineredux4356 жыл бұрын
BrokenGod Ent. Unlike most whit woe people Em has acknowledged that his race was a major factor in his success. B/c we know skill isn’t the sole determinant to success although Em is a immensely skilled lyricist. But so is Rakim. The problem is white people want to act as though we’re somehow post racism and are perplexed when Black people are stand offish about accepting them or their contributions in the art form. You all conveniently forgot about how you polluted American music with your racist practices. So much so that Black people are embittered by all the high jinx of the last 50 years as it relates to music. It was white people who called Black music race music and didn’t want to integrate the airwaves. In fact you all were so racist, that you didn’t want to play Elvis’ music b/c you thought he was a Black women. That’s how crazy white people were just decades ago. So now the universe in its infinite wisdom created an art form form the gutters and ghettos of Blaxk America, to which it made it almost impossible for an outsider to effectively replicate for close to 30 years, until Em. Even today Hip Hop is still predominantly a Black art form, even with all the success of today’s white rappers. The Black man’s DNA is inextricably coded in it, so that if it were to ever be changed it would cease to be loved and enjoyed by billions of people the world over. Therefore, the universe coded as such that you will never be able to do to Hip Hop what was done to Jazz, Rock and Heavy Metal. Nah this is bigger than music it’s the universe resetting the world on its original axis.
