I was in college at 19 yrs old and one winter I had pneumonia. Some friends drove from Chicago to Iowa. While upstairs sick and couldn't move or get out of bed. I heard this album they were playing in the stereo and it was this one track that really caught my attention. I got the strength to get up out of the bed and went downstairs and I asked "what is that?" told them to "play it again!!" It was Ice Water from the "Only Built For Cuban Linx" album. I kid you not, two days later listening to that track and that album repeatedly, it made my fever go down and I was getting much better. Only Built for Cuban Linx album took away my pneumonia. That's a story I have told to people for years. Been a fan ever since.

Yeah when Triumph dropped it was crazy. I picked up Wu Forever from Circuit City on launch day. Double CD with Enhanced CD. I put the enhanced cd in my old Macintosh and you could see little Wu mansion graphics, bios for all the members and links to buy Wu wear gear. I also had got the Jordan 12 playoffs while watching the Bulls win it all again. 55points on the Bullets, the sick game and all! I also had the N64 and just copped Starfox 64, and my cuz up the street had just copped that Soul Blade on PS1. We played those games religiously! Great times!

Im from cali born and raised but we loved newyork hiphop like all regions, and they definitely had their legends with ground breaking styles that resonated through out hiphop internationally and nationally. Newyork downfall was their cockyness and arrogance as a whole, like since hiphop started there we should disregard the rest of the nation or anyone whos not close to eastcoast. Of course even in the 90s you had your few hiphop artist and fans who respected stuff outside their region and even did collabs. But as a whole they wanted nothing to do with outsiders and i experienced it first hand when i was in the service with anyone from newyork. As far as human nature goes its normal with any invention that a certain region, group, or culture created to look at everything else as somewhat foreign when they created something. But there should be some amount of leeway for acceptance and being humble so the orginators can flourish. Wu is definitely legends though and ive always respected them.

1993 i was 11 years old on Long Island, i had the Protect ya Neck single cassette tape, im almost positive Method Man was on side B. This was before 36 chambers came out. I remember listening to it over and over. Me and my young white boys from the suburbs grew up on Wu in the 90’s. Wu tang is for everyone. When my first son was born in 2017, he was rockin a Wu onesie as a baby. Thank you Rae for creating some of the most memorable music of my lifetime. So glad to see you on Rogan. Peace and love 🙏
