Summer 1970. Imagine a whole darkened Montreal Forum packed with excited little ones, closing in on around eleven at night, right after the first few bars of this one, suddenly, all 20,000 of us dead quiet, such silence, literally you could hear the ol' adage, hear a pin drop beside you ... what unbelievable reverence from that stoned youthful lot: not a whistle, not a shout, not a peep, nothing, like you're the only one in the audience. Niel Young was there too: four guitars, four voices, not to happen again. When they finished, we would not let them go. The Forum turned on their lights. But not for us, no one left, we stood and applauded and applauded, until they had to come back on stage and continue with more. David Crosby, gone forever, but in our hearts, he will live on and on.

Whenever I listen to these guys sing, I strain to hear Crosby there in the middle. It's hard to hear him without really concentrating. So smooth is he. He blends in so well. His voice sort of dissolves into the other two, but when I do pick up on it, I try to keep my mind on it. He's such an amazing harmony singer. Anyway, that's the little game I play when I listen to them. I enjoy it.

The part where they're singing "Remember what we've said, & done" --& Graham reaches over & rests his hand on Steven's arm --"& felt about eachother". They've been thru so much together, both the best & worst.

@@stephaniereck8081 I agree. I think he is getting a big kick out of performing at this level, with the great harmony, and on this great, kicking it, song. I have sung in a few quartets and am usually reserved, on stage, but if I were a part of a performance like this, I would be excited and probably couldn't be still, myself.
