I’ve had mine for about a year, they definitely have a learning curve. You need to wax the head of your breech screw for smooth feeding. I use a machine screw lube wax, others use melted candle wax, just a drop or two to fill in screw head and contour to breech. I only add a GravMag to gun once I’m done upgrading it, found preferred pellet, zeroed etc. After that, most malfunctions are user error. Great video!

There is also a breech replacement screw out on the Market it has a domed head . I used the little red or orange washers to raise up the screw head on my 2240 .

I didn’t realize they didn’t, that’s unfortunate. It’d be really cool as you’d get even higher capacity in .177 because the pellet is smaller in diameter.

Have you tried Baracuda 18 pellets in your Grav Mag ? Wondering if they will fit ! The Baracuda 18 looks slightly taller than the Baracuda Hunter I use in my 362/w Grav Mag !

Ok, old boy, your new ammo magazine is very interesting. It is an adaptation for the monoshot carbine. The problem is that not just any pellet works well in these types of chargers. I myself had some problems with my Artemis CR600W rotary magazine; only a certain model of diabolo pellet, 0.85 gram, softer alloy and well rounded head worked; you'll have to try several until you know what works best. Another problem is that since your carbine is a multipump, one less move, a little less pressure will cause the pellet to choke inside the barrel, and if you don't notice, two or more pellets will mount. Then, you will need a barrel cleaning rod to unclog, passing it from the mouth to the breech. I did some research on the Crosman 362, in the .22 caliber and it seems to be fast (over 800 ft/sec) and accurate, with excellent value for money. Now, I'm very curious about Alaska. I watch a lot of videos about it... a fantastic region, isolated, sparsely inhabited, wild, with a prodigious and extreme nature. But how can a cold region, even in summer, harbor so many insects? They are in huge numbers and comparable in size to hummingbirds!!!! Not even here in Brazil, in our Amazonian rainforests or in the Atlantic Forest (an original biome typical of the region close to the coast and that goes from the south to the northeast of the country), with the greatest biodiversity on the planet, there are insects of this type (we have more scary). Lol... Cherrs!

I’ve been doing more shooting with the new mag and it’s been working quite well, I’ve not had anymore jambs. It was feeding wadcutters yesterday without too much trouble. They offer different sized tubes so you can run different length pellets. This trait doesn’t cause me much concern as I have similar limitations with my Marauder rotary magazines. With that type you are stuck with a certain maximum length of pellet. Whereas this mag can use multiple lengths. Our bugs are awful during the summer and fall until freeze up. We don’t seem to have a huge variety, just a ton of the same types. First mosquitoes, then biting black flies, then gnats and finally no-see-ums that constantly fly around your face and eyes. They all suck and ruin summer unless you are in a windy area. Once we get a couple frosts they die off and presently we have no bugs. It’s really nice when it’s sunny this time of year. Not so great for air gun shooting in the yard though. When it’s clear and sunny it gets cold and windy and my targets blew over yesterday. They are forecasting snow this week so I hope that comes true. I love the snow!
@shotsdog-jogihillbilly32892 жыл бұрын
@@airgunsofalaska Glad you got a magazine that works better. As for the pellet size (length) issue it is something that really limits your options. If you have one that accepts different sizes, that's great. In my case, I don't have many options with the CR600W magazine. Lucky for me, the most versatile pellet I've found for her fits perfectly in the original magazine. I'm thinking of making a few more, for spares, on a 3D printer. Impressive what you said about these flies and mosquitoes. I wonder how the animals must suffer (horses, dogs, moose, wolfs and maybe bears). There must be some natural repellent...a garlic necklace maybe (lol). I saw in the movie The Way Back (2010) with Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris, Saoirse Ronan and Colin Farrell, that they had a similar problem and used a herbal necklace donated by locals in Siberia. My friend, snow here is very rare. It happens every few years, in a mountainous region, 200 km from here, at an altitude above 1700 meters. I live in the southeast of the country, but it is more common in the south. I also find it beautiful. But after the snowfall, when everything is white and fluffy (before it turns to slush), and the winds cease, that shooting should be interesting; the spray of snow should perfectly mark the point of impact of the shots. I have a friend in Latvia who does this a lot in winter, shooting with air rifles at targets placed on the snow. Cheers!
@airgunsofalaska2 жыл бұрын
@@shotsdog-jogihillbilly3289 I had no idea that it could occasionally snow in Brazil. 1700 meters is pretty high so it’d definitely be colder at those heights. For me, outdoor winter shooting at my house isn’t very enjoyable due to the seemingly ever present cold winds and lack of daylight. Right now when I get off work I have 2 hours of daylight available to do stuff before it gets dark. We are losing around 5 minutes of daylight each day and with the stupid time change on November 6 we’ll lose an entire hour so it’ll be getting dark at 5:30pm and continue getting darker until winter solstice. We’ll then be going to work/school in the dark and coming home in the dark. I hate the switch back from daylight savings time for that reason. The darkness eliminates shooting outside after work. With bugs I just wear a hoodie, long sleeves and long pants and they can’t bite you. They still swarm around your face but that’s manageable. Some people use bug dope like DEET but that stuff will melt the steering wheel in your vehicle and I don’t think it’s healthy to use. The bugs generally aren’t bad along our “beaches” at the ocean because of the wind and lack of vegetation. The animals just deal with getting swarmed and bit. They sometimes take refuge on snow slide areas in the summer on the slopes of the mountains where there are fewer bugs.

@@airgunsofalaska That's right, old boy... Do you have a name? It would be easier than calling you "That Alaskan Guy". Maybe, if your life isn't so hard and you live in Anchorage or the surrounding area, right in the Copper River valley, in one of the small towns along the Richardson Hihgway, maybe you could shoot on weekend mornings. It must be a tough life, but with fantastic beauty and a lot of freedom.
@airgunsofalaska2 жыл бұрын
@@shotsdog-jogihillbilly3289 yes, lots of freedom for sure and very pretty surroundings. But the winter months often aren’t pleasant for shooting with the lack of daylight, near constant wind negatively effecting the pellets and that it can be really cold 🥶. Handling pellets with gloves isn’t the easiest thing to do. Not to mention all the targets blowing over or the water filled cans rapidly turning to ice 🧊. I put my hose away for winter so it doesn’t freeze and become damaged from expanding ice. I switch to other hobbies once the snow arrives 😀

If you have to pump for each shot, does the gravmag really speed anything up? Seems like it is made more for PCP.
@airgunsofalaska2 жыл бұрын
It definitely speeds things up a bit. After pumping you just run the bolt. No having to fish a pellet out of the tin or your pocket and manually place it in the breech. I really like the concept and how it makes a pneumatic like the 362 into a self contained, PCP like rifle that never runs out of air and has a bottomless magazine that you can keep topping off.

I quit using my grav-mag. I never had any feeding problems. Without it I gain 60fps when using a extended probe. I see you haven't slowed down on pumping it.

I’m planning to do a follow up review with this set up as it’s been working well now that I’m familiar with it. Once you get some shooting time all the little idiosyncrasies make way more sense and it’s been feeding pellets without issues. But, my weather hasn’t been conducive for outdoor shooting. Plus we are losing 5 minutes of daylight per day heading into winter and that really cuts down on time to do things after work.

Does the Diana use a rotary mag like the Benjamin Marauder? When I was shooting in really cold weather my Marauder mag got pretty stiff and was difficult to load. At the time I was thinking the GravMag wouldn’t be as affected by cold temps. Then again, that was the first time in 12 years I’d ever shot my Marauder in temps that cold and that was just to test it as the experience wasn’t particularly enjoyable. 😆
