I have owned several 600 over the years currently I have a nice clean one complete with box and paperwork I shoot it often enough to keep it operating well. It's so tempting to squeeze off 10 rounds as quick as you can but if you take your time and aim it's pretty decent accuracy at 10 yards. I have been owning/collecting Crosmans since 1974 at the age of 13 still some of my favorites along with other American greats like Daisy,Sheridan,Benjamin , S&W etc. Daisy fairly recently acquired all the above except S&W 😮

Fantastic pistol , more accurate then my pistol ( which is new ) the sights on mine are non adjustable and I'm an awful shot . Gonna keep my eye out for one like yours , as I go to a few ( when allowed these days ) vintage gun shows , the one at the motorcycle museum in brum , later in the year is a good one

Great video, and great gun. I bought my first one at a flea market, for $2, in its original box. It was missing the cap. Dave Gunter (600 expert, RIP) had the caps for less than $10. I sent the gun to him and he rebuilt and blue printed it. I have 4 of these 600's now, but the Dave Gunter prepared gun is the only one I have spent any time shooting. My gun appears to be much, much more accurate than yours. Mine is just an uniformed opinion, but I don't think the pellets you were using are particularly good for that gun. Dave Gunter insisted I only use RWS pellets, I forget the exact ones, but have quit a few tins. Thanks for the video!!

My opinion that's the most accurate and powerful handgun from all the researches that I did and For its age it's sure that hell holds up well with great maintenance

I wish i could, but these guns are very difficult to work on, and while mines ok, i dont want to disturb it

I subbed a few years ago after seeing the first video, i oown one bur dont have the original cap that pierces the co2 capsule, do you know / have adresses from people who have spare parts or can make a cap?
@Mark00032603 жыл бұрын
You might try Mac-1 airguns. If they don't make it they might know someone who does. www.mac1airgunshop.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=crosman+600&Submit=Search
@Mark00032603 жыл бұрын
From my limited knowledge, I think there were variants in the way the bulb was pierced. Some had the nail in the cap and some were like the old Sheridans where the bulb was pierced in the valve body so they had different caps. An expert like Tim at Mac-1 would know.

Nope i dont but good engineer could make a simple cap to screw puncture and seal.

any thoughts on what makes it inaccurate? take it it has a rifled barrel and all that? either way i envy you for it lol
@richardblackshire84503 жыл бұрын
It's rifled barrel but it kicks a bit because of the reload system.

I really wish that I can find one of these cheap 2nd hand but they're so pricey I wish my dad collected these when he was younger and could pass 1 down to me I've been on eBay for months now monitoring them I see quite a few that are in great shape but non working and I know nothing about them but I'm tempted to buy a salvaged 1 and have someone repair it for me
@MrJoeygregory2 жыл бұрын
Anywhere in the US that you would know someone that would be selling that would be salami's refurbished by any chance or anywhere if it's not a ridiculous price? I would love to pick one up but I don't have 700 to a $1000 to acquire 1 Or if I were to purchase a non function in one can you recommend someone in the US that could get it up and go in for me I can get basically a brand new 1 I've seen the other day it's just non functioning they said they think it needs O rings it won't hold air But I also heard it could be a valve all these are simple and cheap prepares price wise but I don't know anybody that can do it and I can't do it myself
@MrZola12342 жыл бұрын
Put a longer barrel on it to support a pump action, make it in .17 as well as .22, and you have a winner.
@edmusick77942 жыл бұрын
What? LOL!
@MrZola12342 жыл бұрын
@@edmusick7794 I like that pistol, would not mind having one. I mentioned the .17 and .22, because a lot of folks would pick one up for Varmint hunting in those calibers in a pistol like this.

They probably invested so much time and money because they thought Bullseye shooters (which was very popular after the war) would buy it to practice their rapid and timed fire without needing to spend money on ammo for centerfire pistols. The knocking you off target is actually good practice since the most important thing in rapid fire is requiring your sight picture within the allotted 5 shots in 10 seconds. For a cheap semi-auto, you might also be able to find old Aeron Brno B-96 pistols. They used to be cheap. I don't know why they were discontinued. I have had people rag on my comments claiming they weren't accurate while comparing them to the Feinwerkbau semi-auto that seems to be discontinued now that cost 4 times as much. I bought one when they were being dumped by Diana (RWS) as an importer and for 200 dollars it is a great gun and more accurate than the Crosman.

You keep calling it a “air” pistol when it’s powered by CO2? A spring pistol is powered by air? This is a CO2 pistol? Very well made video. My vote for the best would be the Haenel 28R repeater. But I fully understand and appreciate why you say the 600. Mine needs resealed now another reason it’s not top for me?
@richardblackshire84503 жыл бұрын
Thx for your reply and interesting thoughts. I'm of an age where any pistol or rifle that has a non explosive charge is known as an airgun. Just something I not thought about before but technically your correct.

An air gun, air rifle or airgun, is a gun that shoots projectiles pneumatically with compressed air or other gases that are mechanically pressurized without involving any chemical reactions, in contrast to a firearm, which pressurizes gases chemically via oxidation of combustible propellants that generates propulsive ...
