Some time has gone by since you aired this wonderful video on how to make this very useful apron! I wanted to down load the pattern but I am unable to. I was reading some of the most recent comments ( 2yrs old!) and followed the link for the pattern. It led me to your store where I have to purchase it. Right now the amount is not all that great but for me it means food for the dogs or for myself. That is why I am curious as to if the pattern may have been just a temporary special. Not a problem, I’ll just adjust and get creative as you have done! Great idea for the table cloth! I have a few I inherited that might just work out right! It doesn’t matter if I am in my quilt studio or the kitchen, when I put an apron on I feel like I have my uniform on and it’s time to work!

Good evening, I made my apron and being that this is my first garment (other than a mask) I am very proud of myself. I will first start by mentioning that I am a plus size woman with plenty of rolls for baking, bottom for bouncing and hips for couching my bones. My cutout and put together will have to be tweaked to make it larger in the neck and if I want my bottom to hide the back straps as well. I am pleased all the same. I also want to make mine longer. Thank you. When I put my pockets on I will take a picture and send it to you.

Any suggestions on how to print it? I see the 36" from shoulder hem to bottom hem(I think), and each shoulder strap is 4" wide, but how deep is the neckline and the arm openings? Do you cut this on the fold? If so, how wide is it from centre seam to outer most hem?
@OurGabledHome4 жыл бұрын
You don't need to print it unless you want to blow it up. The arm scoop can be about ½ the total length (18") and the neck scoop it totally up to you. The total width is about 36", too. You can also make a "trial apron" from cheap muslin or any leftover fabric to see if you like it. Hope this helps!

Hello thank you for this. I am struggling with working out how to make the pattern. Are the strap parts 4" and how deep is the top scoop? 🤔
@OurGabledHome2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can make the straps 4" wide - or adjust them to your liking. The neck scoop is flexible, too. Some people like it higher and others lower. If in doubt, you can cope the scoop of your favorite t-shirt. Alternatively, you can always get my fully downloadable and printable pattern: ourgabledhome.com/product/cross-over-apron-printable-pattern/ Hope this helps and happy sewing 😊 ~ Anja

hi sweetie, love this, have another question, do you know how many yards this takes? Also what is the measurement ACROSS the middle part? I see the 36” from top to bottom, but not the width measurement? TIA
@OurGabledHome3 жыл бұрын
It is pretty much a square pattern, so about 36" across. Hope this helps and thank you for your sweet comment 💛 ~ Anja

Did she just turn the fabric once? Linnen will fray. Maybe I couldn’t make it out properly. Definitely turn twice or serge/ zickzack it.
@OurGabledHome2 жыл бұрын
For more longevity, it's better to turn the edges twice however with a tight stitch I haven't had any problems with fraying fabric. Thank you for sharing 😊 ~ Anja

@@OurGabledHome I agree. Twice is good. Just couldn’t tell in the video. Looked like only once to me. Enjoy your sewing.

Ok... I think I am confused, what is the width off the apron,just learning.thank you .kindly.
@OurGabledHome4 жыл бұрын
It is more or less a square pattern (about 36" wide), depending a little bit on your size. The pattern is very forgiving, though. If in doubt, I recommend that you make a "trial apron" from some leftover fabric or cheap muslin and adjust from there. Hope this helps!
