I just bought a house but am single, however am literally in the midst of moving. Packing at the moment, I don't have much stuff so it only takes me 2 days as I have no furniture and only live in a tiny 1 bed rental flat, so the house will look so empty with how little stuff I have. Houses are so much better than flats, you'll love the space!

You are so blessed that you found your person who understands and gets a person living with chronic pain. I have had chronic migraines and fibromyalgia for over 15 yrs of my marriage. Due to that, I also suffer from depression and anxiety/PTSD issues. My husband has had to morphe into that person that understands. He is amazing as a helpmate and husband of over 30 yrs. I am the same way as you! I need neutral colours but my husband likes pops of colour. I found that picking 1 colour to stick to and the rest neutrals works for us. An in-between but also not overwhelming to look at

We need to normalize couples having just 1 car! Especially when you WFH and don't have kids, it's so easy to have just 1. My husband and I both work from home and went down to 1 car in 2021 (we made 8k on the car we sold!). We haven't gone back since. At first we talked about buying a new car eventually, but with just some minor adjustment, it hasn't posed any problems for our lifestyle. Plus, we have saved a ton on insurance costs by having just one vehicle.

It’s so crazy seeing that you are (were) in Houston! I go to school and work there, and everything was shut down due to the weather. Houston went full freak out haha but it’s understandable because like you said, we aren’t prepared for weather that cold. I was super worried we would lose power during the winter storm but thankfully that didn’t happen. The roads were so icy though that cars were sliding down the highway ramps… it was also my second time ever seeing snow so at least that was nice, but anyway, congrats on your move! My bf and I did long distance as well and moved in together last year to Katy which is in the outskirts of Houston, so I related so hard to what you were talking about. Best wishes!

So happy for you during this fun move with your boyfriend. Just a suggestion. We hired a company to put together furniture, hang blinds and large mirrors and it was so much faster. Didn't cost very much either. Ours was called Crew Pros but we are in the Midsouth area. Have fun with your move.

We left Seattle around the same time. I went to Canada. I came back to the US this past fall and moved into a house that I own. The moving was brutal. I'm a fibromyalgia, MCAS, PoTS. My cousin drove up into Ontario to get me and I was glad she was there to manage things cuz I crashed out while the moving company was packing all the crap. Moving while chronically ill is so exhausting and just this elongated process with your body to readjust.

After 3 out of state moves - don't bother moving your furniture, it gets trashed anyway. All our dark wood furniture was scratched & gouged & we ended up donating most of it (kept our sleigh bed & nightstands)

I know people make fun of us for, sometimes justifiably, the way we panic and handle snow, but we did not grow up with this. Our winters aren’t intense and summer doesn’t chill the fudge out until November. Fall is only a month long. Pretty sure Spring is too scared of Summer to stick around too.
