I usually tunnel wision on a free pair, often making very inefficient crosses just to have a free first pair
@JaydenMcNeill6 жыл бұрын
It's a real problem tunnel visioning things in general Always good to keep yourself rooted in the fundamentals when this happens Sub 8 move crosses Pairs that generally take 8 moves to solve Etc

I would do cross with yellow and white in 1.5 with an inspection of 5 seconds but not with all sides nicely as I haven't learnt colours scheme for all sides

how would you solve the FR pair of Scramble F2 R' F2 R ? how for this pair in BL? (with and not bringing cross piece on top?)
@JaydenMcNeill6 жыл бұрын
assuming the setup is F2 R' F2 R i like doing y L' U' L2 U L' because even when you factor in the rotation, it's faster Same logic would apply to other slots probably This is an F2L trick I only use in feet and FMC, along with other almost good solutions like F2 R U R' U' F2/inv among others

Heyyy do you think you could give a sort of tutorial / tips video on switching to cn? I've been wanting to switch for a while and I've been putting it off for the sake of improvement, I'm now at about mid 10s average and I don't know if it's even worth it to switch :/
@JaydenMcNeill6 жыл бұрын
If you're going from 2 colors then cold turkey is best If going from one color then do dual first, then do the above Patrick ponce and nahm know more about this (they switched, I was always cn)

I have a question about an F2L case (do F' U2 F R U R' to set it up). When it is my first pair to solve should I do R U' R' rotate R' U R to have it in the back so that I can look ahead better because I have to open front slots. Or should I do it the rotationless way.
@JaydenMcNeill6 жыл бұрын
Both are good, I also like R' U sledge R
@FazrulzFanGanXAirSMCuber6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Now I use all three algs depending on the case.

CN: Take 15 secs to settle on a "good"(/ a little better (see JPerm's video about it)) cross + plan 1st pair dCN/tCN: Choose between yellow, white and maybe even another color and plan more than one piece, sacrificing move efficiency for quick and pauseless execution due to more extensive lookahead. Taking everything in concideration, the difference may be too small for it to be much more than a personal preference, but is in my opinion worth a try. What do you think about it?

Difference between cross plus 1 and an x cross?
@romanlinnik74416 жыл бұрын
X-cross: ending the cross solves the pair immediately. Cross+1: a.pair is 3-4 moves before inserted and is very easy to lookahead to.
@phillipmonteiro49306 жыл бұрын
Also that orange cross you showed could’ve been done in 4 moves

Is it still worth it to become CN when averaging 13 seconds?

Yes, there are tons of world class solvers who became CN late on in their career.
