We're still having negative situations such as war; hunger; poverty; etc around us, it's not because God isn't fair but looked from God's perspective, they are not bigger than our Mighty God...cause we're spread/ placed everywhere in this world by Him with different talents and uniqueness to be such a helper/ miracle/ light to others in their negative situations. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it. Normally I don't comment on these posts but I will say this, philosophically, this has been a question I have struggled with for years. While I agree to some extent- particularly the context of glorifying God and serving him- There's more fulfillment I've found in the latter than in work and service. I'm still left with a feeling of temporary meaning, which isn't bad but is left in complete. It's left me with the thought that more of the deeper filling meaning is in worship and less in work.

The problem with Christians today is that they have missed the whole point, Jesus never came into this world to start a religion. Christianity is a way of life ,it's a life style. Jesus came to bring a government that Adam lost when he sinned, the kingdom of God. Christians are so focused on a religion "man made" that they lost the purpose of God.

All that we do is for God, and so all that we do is worship to God. Read Romans 14, where Paul discusses this. Also read Colossians 3:23, and 1 Peter 2. Work and service is worship of God. We magnify Him through all our deeds and words, no matter how small or large. Our acts show the greatness of God, because we are His creation, and what we do is a reflection of the power He gave us, to work, create, serve. See also Colossians 3:17 "Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father." We cannot separate worship from work. Our entire existence is about magnifying the Lord. I know this is an older comment, but I hope this can be of help.

I've always said the biblical meaning of life "is to fellowship" and share experiences. God created Adam for fellowship, experiences. He had the angles for worship. He created Eve for Adam as a helpmate, counterpart , to fellowship with. Share experiences. "How" we fellowship is glory to God.

I understand what others have said and agree, its just that it is like describing a box with only two dimensions, Are we called to fear yes, are we called to make Him known, yes but the purpose of all of that is so that we would know him in a way that is far beyond what even Adam knew about God. The purpose of the cross is so that we would not just escape hell but that We would be related to the God of the Universe intimately . I can say I know about someone but not really know them. I can however say that I know my wife like no other. the is a huge difference between the two. Can we say the same about God, that we know Him more and more each day. that we enjoy the relationship we have with Him.

In answering this question, and even mentioning "glorify God," I am surprised at Frank not going to Isaiah 43:7 "Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him." That says that we, called by His name (Christians and Jews, His chosen people) are created to glorify Him. That means our lives that we live in Him should be lived for His glory. While, in no way do I disagree with Frank, he should have included that point. He is right, we should be involved in politics, and we should be fighting for the faith (some like Frank is, others in other ways), and not just in private.

Sometimes I read the comments and click right off because of the arguments. Its really bad when the comments are so hateful that you can't tell the difference between those calling themselves Christians and unbelievers. Christians: there are certain people you are not going to change thru arguing because their eyes are closed and only God can open them. We should pray for them when we realize they are not interested in the truth, rather than going back and forth arguing. We Christians are told not to throw our pearls to swine. So we myself included should think before we send that clever sounding comment and if it is for the Lord or to make ourselves look good

However, we do not and cannot earn salvation by our good works, so Jesus paid the fine for our sins for us. God loves you so much and showed that through Jesus Christ! Romans 5:8 Hopefully this inspired and encouraged you today. God bless.

Personally I am an atheist and thus I feel free to give my life whatever meaning I choose. Aron Ra once said 'If you want your life to be meaningful, help others make their lives meaningful'. I think that is an excellent principle.

I love how he acts like religion, mostly Christianity, has no influence in anything anymore. It's like he missed the fact most of our officials are outspoken Christians, how being anything BUT Christian in America can have major impacts on how people see you, especially atheist, and how America is supposed to be a secular country, but in the end, America is basically a theocracy, or will be.

I think the interesting question is, what is God's purpose in creating the universe? I think there is an answer to it, by the way.

I don't beleive in God because of the Bible. I beleive in God because there is God. After i beleive God then i start reading and beleiving His word. There are many people who have beleived in God without reading the Bible in the first place. How do you think Paul changed the world??

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE AWAKENING WE NEEDED AS BODY OF CHRIST!! which has been sleeping from years now ! I needed this and all other sleeping Christians waiting for Rapture common man, how do you know that you even good enough to be a part of rapture are you Enoch or Elijah ?(who had private rapture). They have spent their lives and walked with god for many many years(preaching the word of God prophesizing) today you repent and start thinking yourself to be a part of rapture in fact don't think of just escaping yourself through rapture(that's not love but selfishness) instead think this, what even one single life of Christian can do if we stayed in tribulation and preached and died as martyr! spend the rest of your years to do something for God and don't be selfish thinkin about rapture! So when you go in His presence He will tell you "well-done my good and faithful servant"

I understand it in the way that the purpose of life for humans is found in Genesis 1:26: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." And Jesus tells us what that means: "And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But you shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that does serve." Luke 22:25-26 So, to paraphrase: God created man to be His image and rule over the earth. And a good ruler is serving that which he is ruling over in the best possible way. We are also supposed to be God's image, so we're supposed to be like God and not "sinning" (literally: "missing the target/goal" (of being perfect like God)). Jesus says: "Be you therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48 And: "I am not asking on behalf of them alone, but also on behalf of those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me." John 17:20-21

Ben Fisher Jesus taught us that we are viewed by him as agricultural product, and even in the good Shepard parable we are but a flock of sheep, a crop to be harvested, the in come of a farmer is the crop that is sewn and raised for his income at harvest and taken to market and sold to the highest bidder. Every thing in creation is created for the purpose of the creator. We are his servants, we are created to serve the creator, and this is the purpose of our existence, to serve our creator, we are a crop to be harvested, for the benefit of the creator, our master is our ruler and we are his servants, it might just be that we servants of God can be sold at the market to the highest bidder for a gain in the service of our master, the creator and our God who created all of his creation for his pleasure and purpose. Revelation 4:11

@@ramondjones8862 Serving the creator and ruling the creation doesn't exclude one another. The parable of being crop to be harvested is an image to show the difference between the good seed and the bad seed. The good seed comes to God the bad seed is thrown into the fire. "And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bore twelve manner of fruit, and yielded its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and HIS SERVANTS shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be on their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no lamp, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they SHALL REIGN FOREVER AND EVER." Revelation 22:1-5

1Pe 4:11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies-in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. I am suprised Dr Turek does not know that the purpose of man is to glorify God.
