While at the Scholarship Level 1 Course at CrossFit South Philly, Seminar Staff Head Trainer Larry Thomas walks through a muscle-up progression on the low rings.
Before an athlete is ready to attempt the muscle-up skill on the high rings, "there's some homework that needs to be done before we get to that point," explains Thomas. "The first step in the progression is going to be ring support." Watch for the full step-by-step skill development.

Overall very good, but one important piece that was demonstrated incorrectly was the athlete’s position kneeling below the rings. She should not be in an extended position below the rings, she should maintain the hollow position (abs contracted and eyes looking straight forward, not up) as she pulls the rings down to the sternum.

You’re not going to get a good hollow in that position (and that’s not the focus here) because the entire purpose of the scale is arm extension with false grip, the turnover, and to maintain wrist position in the bottom of the dip. Even legs out will not accommodate a hollow hold and maintain focus on the primary stimulus. Hollow hold is when you’re hanging.

@@MiddleAgedPlague hollow position isn't only when you're hanging, and you can achieve a good hollow in this drill. Body position should always be a focus when doing these drills so there is carryover to the full muscle-up. There is no reason why you should be in extension for this drill if you would be in a hollow at this point during a hanging muscle-up, regardless of strict or kipping.

You should redo the video without masks. The masks severly reduce your credibility in health knowledge.
