well in my opinion, maybe u played hard to get for too long, the guy lost their energy chasing u rather embracing u..even if when they got u, make it interesting for them..guys love challenges, just say it mess with their ego..they got u, after some time, make them chase again n reward them..i say this because thats how i feel a girl should be when with a guy..if not, eventually the guy just fades off..i was in a relationship for 6-7 years, she made it interesting for me, then she stop doing it, i slowly stop loving her..its in the human needs, certainty and uncertainty

They included him tilting the pen just before they cut to black to let you know what he chose. You can tell that he was going to follow the upward line by the way he pivoted his wrist clockwise for more leverage drawing in that direction. At first, I was confused, because I had thought that they flipped the view to be from his angle because of how short the line on the right side of the frame was, but the pen is pointed toward the camera. I could be wrong, obviously, but because of that, I strongly believe we got a happy ending. =)

Just because the sparks are gone doesn't mean you're not in love, eventually all relationships pass those first exciting stages. Love is more than a feeling, it's a bond, and it doesn't mean that passion is gone forever, it just means that your relationship will go through phases, and mold itself over time. You can't expect to feel those butterflies forever because you'll only disappoint yourself.
@advut277 жыл бұрын
but you can't indifferent to the things you were interested in before? was those just an effort to win someone over? my friend if that's what love is we all are doing it wrong. it don't have to have butterflies but effort matters. Even if the sparks long gone. Effort makes the hard road easy when two people want to work it out.
@LemonadeSugar7 жыл бұрын
Molly Katherine I agree completely. After many years of dating someone you get comfortable and sparks might not always be there when you see each other. But putting effort and willingness to continue to do things together is very important. You gotta make sure you show affection and love to one another no matter how long the relationship is. Which means to give quality time to one another even when you have a busy schedule.
@molly28467 жыл бұрын

Molly Katherine I don't think what she cared about was the sparks and the beginning phase of the relationship specifically, but more of the investment and interest in each other. If your partner dismisses you or doesn't show affection or interest anymore, you'll feel discouraged and like things are going downhill, and might replicate the same behavior. I don't think it's the same as losing spark

@SiaarZH6 жыл бұрын
I think this channel is at "just the right place and time". The more mainstream they go, the more their content will suffer. Once you're forced to push content on a schedule, the harder it is to stay deeply creative and emotionally relevant. There are so many channels I un-subbed from because they would start including webcasts, live-streams, and just unedited real-life content where they simply eat pizza or go to the mall.

One of the best things I love about Wong Fu is the minute details - the shots of their hands, eyes, feet. Lingering, falling, the hesitation - these are all things through which our bodies communicate what is going on within us. The second thing, is the natural acting and the extremely natural state of the actors in terms of make up, speaking etc. I feel like I am literally watching a friend of mine's life story here. It is really nice to see because not everyone looks like friggin contoured or a model 24/7. People are people, and we fall in love with them.

I have a common practice that has always kind of worked and is one of the reasons I believe my relationship has been successful. Everyone grows and changes through out the years. So I try to make it a priority to get to learn my partner all over again. You have to date and get to know this new person your person is growing into, and the reverse. If you keep that in mind it tends to make the entire thing exciting and new. Learn about new interests , old interests. Have them teach you their hobbies etc. seems obvious but we all tend to get caught up with the whirlwind of life we tend to lose sight of it all.

I actually liked the ending -because whether he went up or down doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things - had he gone up, it would make some people swoon, while getting some criticism from others, down and then many would comment saying that it was a sad ending, or maybe a truthful one. It is just a story, while brilliantly written, it is only a story - what we make of it is ours, and the ending is also ours, with all the ups and downs, disagreements, connections made and lost. But it makes us think, or discuss, and that is a value in itself. And I do know there are people who would say it is true, it is life, because they went through something similar and yet completely different because of their personal experiences, and they would want certainty, but there is rarely any, or at least not always.

I freaking loved how it captured the emotions so beautifully, the chase he made, the aloof facade she gave. How her experience has brought her to the point of not diving head-first into something new, as tempting as it might be. How the show portrayed the fact that she was clearly into him but she suppressed her emotions-and finally, when it happened, that defining moment. Coupled with such a good soundtrack and cinematography, I was entranced with the story. And, realistically, I love how this showed such a real life situation and such a real life answer to it. If your relationship is facing issues, talk about it, no passive-aggressive or subtweets or subtly throwing shade. Be real. What got me was when she said, "You got me. Is that all you wanted? Did you not wanna keep me?" as it perfectly shows how interest gets lost the moment "The Chase" is over; that and at the end when I realised she's basically saying, "this is how we started, this was how we were, and this is what's happening now, so make your choice". Using the graph just made it so much more interesting and easy to understand. That cliffhanger ending was such a good way to end it, as frustrating as it was. Kudos Wongfu, I am in tears :')

What we learned from this film: The one, who falls in love quickly, you can compare that to crushes, will get over you easier. Crushes don’t last long and so isn’t their love. You will fall quickly, but when you get down, you’re either get on together, or your life’s will part. The one who fell quicker than you, who had their walls down from the beginning, probably hadn’t much to loose but their lives will continue so. They will get used to you, take you for granted, until someone new sparks their eye and the cycle begins again. The other one, who needs time falling in love, will also need more time letting someone go. They had their walls up, when meeting someone, they had their walls up on the first date. But as they get to know each other, they slowly put their wall down, brick by brick. But during that time, the other one (who crushed on you) slowly distant themselves from you, even unconscious. And when you put it all down, ready to jump into the cold water and do everything that people in a relationship do, the other one already experienced that and you’re left alone. You’ll build your wall up again, higher, and the whole cycle will begin again.

I normally *never* comment on youtube videos, but this particular video struck an emotion that resonated strongly with me and perhaps others. My goodness. Never have I felt that this feeling that I've felt before could be articulated as clearly as this short has depicted; of gradual change in emotional capacity between two people. Sad to say, I've done what the girl has done before, but never really noticed. I slowly kept building walls that were taller and taller, after each failed relationship, to prevent myself from falling. There came a person who was just like the boyfriend in this video. Charming, intelligent, and genuine. This person even pointed out that he felt as if I had a wall up during the first few months of dating. I didn't feel like I did, but repeated conditioning of experiencing regret through failed relationships causes one to automatically have walls up by default. So to me, having walls up 24/7 was as automatic as breathing, so I never noticed. I let my walls fall for this person. He was the first person in a while to make me feel a certain way I haven't felt before. Then as the girlfriend pointed out, the emotional investment from the other decreased as my trajectory increased. This is what I explicitly remember feeling and felt as though we were at a point where things would deteriorate. Things continued to fall, and we tried working things out, but it just wasn't ever the same. We did end up breaking up though, which put me through some shitty days, but hey, that's reality sometimes.

If you are in a relationship and the "interest" diminishes, then you shouldn't be in a relationship at all. "There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results." *Kenneth H. Blanchard*
@TheRaphaPower7 жыл бұрын
no the infatuation will eventually diminish. People take that as love. But it's easy to be infatuated. True love comes in when you invest each and every day into your significant other. Even when you don't feel like it and even when it's hard. True love is being there for them despite anything and that happens when you invest your time into them. Just because the infatuation diminished doesn't mean something amazing can't grow. It's a choice we all have to make.

I look forward to the day I meet a woman who can express herself this eloquently and with such self-respect. Someone who can fight for our relationship by reminding me of what we've invested, what we mean to each other, without coming off as argumentative or confrontational. I have yet to meet her but when I do, I hope our lines do cross...but stay parallel from that moment onward.
@cassiebanks7 жыл бұрын
The only place you're going to find that is through someone that watches Wong Fu videos. LOL! I don't think it's as easy as "staying" invested in a relationship. A relationship is where you go to balance out all the hard work you put into your career/job. If your first inclination isn't to spend time with your significant other to enjoy some chill time or to celebrate your accomplishments, what you need to make the long haul isn't there. Just my opinion.

Carrie Zhang I get your point but I value balance more than anything. It could be the opposite where she starts out more invested in me. In the end, I'd rather have things pretty equal. But that's just my opinion.
@cassiebanks7 жыл бұрын
+Name - I don't deny that yes, sometimes you just need a few hours by yourself or a night out with the girls, but I was reacting more to the visual of the video. In this relationship, the guy has pretty much fallen into his tech and the purpose of the graph she's drawing is showing him the increase in the instances he's choosing tech over human interaction. A lot of couples were brought up to think dating is the place where you sell your wares instead of really getting to know whether someone can meet your needs. I know really needy people who need social interaction all the time and I know people like me who are more home/family types who value just spending time together. The message of the video to me was to be bold enough to realize that even though you've put a year into a relationship, actions speak louder than words. It's like watching body language to tell if someone is lying. They may think they are being honest, but intent speaks volumes that lip service could never cover. You can tell if someone cherishes you or if you're just there because they can't stand being alone.

I remember coming across WongFu years ago when I was dating my first love on and off for 3 years. A lot of their shorts hit home on what I felt, or what I feared would happen, and I would try to get him to watch it to understand how I felt. Naturally we parted ways, and it has been years now, but these shorts, whether they're newly made or from a few years ago, bring back memories of when we both were together, and I wanted so badly for him to not drift away.

Love isn't always a feeling... love is a choice we have to make every day. Love is the intentional act of putting the one we love before anything else... even when the first passions subside.
@AyanamiRei5kyu7 жыл бұрын
so i guess this does happen to a lot of relationships not just me... maybe i was immature but when i got together with my first boyfriend it was exactly like this and i just couldn't cope with the fact that his emotional investment was so high in the beginning and just dropped somewhere along the way... i felt neglected and unfair that he showed me so much love and affection and i put down my defensive walls and doubts and made me love him but then his interest just seemed to fade... he said he loved me the same or even more and maybe that was true but i just felt the opposite... it's difficult to balance out each other's investment but if a relationship is meant to last i'm sure it's just another obstacle you will overcome

Been watching WongFu videos since they were being uploaded on some other site before KZbin existed. It's been almost a decade I think. And still I find myself putting these videos in my watch later for weeks or months at a time. They hit so hard and ring so true they feel like those inevitable conversations in a relationship you avoid even though you know everything will be better if you just bite the bullet and talk it out. I always feel more enlightened after watching these videos and yet still find myself scared to watch them immediately because of the impact it will have on my life. Thank you for constantly creating top quality content that withstands the test of time. Thank you for creating a dialogue.

WONG FU!!!! Thank you for such another beautiful story!!! I was part of the skype conversations with Phil and it is so good to see the ideas and stories we shared come to life, The line "Did you not want to keep me" totally got me😢..... some much feeeels. I wonder what way the graph went....and I wonder what made his line go down... usually when emotions change that way it could be external factors like work or just the person in question going through some internal conflict, I find a relationship can be better saved when people talk through the tough situations as they laughed through the good times. Also sometimes we do need to work things out ourselves to keep our relationships healthy, but whilst we do that, we can at least let the person we're doing life with know that it is nothing to do with them, we just need some time to figure things out so we can be a better version of ourselves.

1:18 Him-"Whatever you want. Doesn't matter to me" Her-"I want it to matter to you" GURL no. When he says that it means that he doesn't want his preference to influence what you want (in case they conflict). That's why he says "Whatever you want" before saying "It doesn't matter to me". It doesn't mean that he doesn't care about the party or you in general. In fact it means that he cares about you and your mental wellbeing, that's why he's being considerate. Besides that, this is an amazing film really. This demonstrates a real problem that really happens in relationships. What a gem.

Violet Dahlia if you're in a mature relationship, instead of focusing of where the line he'll draw, you need to understand that at the crossing point, a couple should TALK as it must be not comfortable to one party (mostly the girl's). By TALKING, you don't confront to him that you want that butterflies in your stomach kind of relationship but you confront your insecurity due to his attitude lately. people change and grow to a mature relationship where working overtime focusing on career is the new sign of love instead of those night time love texts. the attitude towards each other might change but the level of love is something you need to question. Women tend to measure the level of love by the attitude towards them but is that the right measurement? Try to coordinate your mind and heart together to feel his attitude cos heart solely could be easilly fooled.

Man this made me tear up because this is what happened between my ex and I. I chased after her for a little over 5 years throughout high school and the start of college. It took me that long to win her over, and she went from ignoring all my messages to face-timing me every night. For me, I went the opposite way and started to become more distant. I didn't realize how much I truly cared until we broke up, but I'm happy to say that I at least realized what was going on and am now able to turn things back around. We reached a crossing point, but that doesn't mean we can't change how the lines continue on:)
