"CROSSINGS" feat. KAI LENNY & JOHN FLORENCE

"200 nautical miles, fast and uncomfortable... you ready for this?" Kai and John come up with an idea to foil across the Kaua'i Channel on John's 18' cat. But first they gotta get Kai trained up on the boat, and figure out if it's even possible. It's a multi day mission, pushing their limits, and culminating in a launch from John's front door on the North Shore of Oahu, to Hanalei Bay, Kauai. And back... maybe.

I don't usually use the word "epic", but this was truly epic on so many levels! How the hell is Erik getting some of those shots, like the one near beginning with sun shining through sails, from underneath?! He's a wizard. Yeah I got old and started sailing and it's kinda a similar feel. Being at one with the boat and the wind and when it just picks up and goes it's a great feeling. I think it's just being at one with nature and working with something you can't control. Great vid.

John John come to New Zealand for the America Cup and you will see us Kiwi's fly on our foil yachts. I am lucky to see Team NZ boats out on the water most days and its sight to be seen 75 ft foiling monohulls. Kiwi's pioneering some of the best innovative technologies ... who else would bring pedal power to a yacht race!
