The hp scaling really makes the game unique and definitely adds some challenge going later throughout the game, and i love how they make all the blights in the castle 2000hp to encourage the player to head to the divine beast. Theres also most of these properties i never knew how some attacks have damage scaling because i usually make quick work of them lol
@Croton2 жыл бұрын
The damage scaling isn't super significant enough to notice half of the time (unlike the health scaling) but it's still important and neat that it's there!!! I really appreciate the 2000hp sanctum blights as well for that same reason

My route has always been thunderblight, then waterblight because Miphas grace is helpful to me and it takes 6 urbosas furys, which I think stacks nice, then windblight cause I can never for the life of me remember how to get up death mountain correctly, and finally fireblight which is the only one my phone doesn’t want to autocorrect

@@ProffesionalIdiot Cryonis can break the ice blocks, but stasis can allow you to hit them back at Waterblight for pretty significant damage. And in the Waterblight rematch in the Champions' Ballad DLC, you're only given a small number of arrows and a few Zora spears, making stasis-launching the ice blocks arguably the best strategy.

This video just makes me wish even more that the blights still did their boss rush even after beating all four divine beasts in master mode; having them as a final refresher course before diving down to face the final boss would have been a lot of fun and amped up the challenge. Also, now I'm curious how much of the game you can do using only parries as your source of damage.
@Croton2 жыл бұрын
Honestly it would be cool to have them all before Ganon still! But I get why they aren't, it would throw off the whole sense of reward of doing them before hand I guess in that way, it encourages multiple playthroughs of the game so you can play again just to rush the sanctum!
@MarcusTalks12 жыл бұрын
Honestly if the refights happened after beating them, it would be more rewarding to see how strong they could be. Also it really doesn’t make sense that they can be in the castle and control the beast at the same time.
@ebonysable60932 жыл бұрын
According to PointCrow's video on beating Breath of the Wild without a shield, you can beat a straight to Ganon run using only parries except for second phase Waterblight. He was only able to beat second phase Waterblight with moonjumps and a lynel shield. He did have to use a bomb against Fireblight, but only because he wasn't willing to switch away from the lynel shield in order to parry the fireball.

Something you missed about master mode, is that Calamity Ganon has a very special property in master mode. Normally during the 2nd phase there’s a glitch that speedrunners like to use using the spin of a claymore that puts him in a stunlock. But when playing in master mode this glitch is actually fixed so you have to fight him legit. It’s pretty cool seeing them account for speedrunners since they always run normal mode.

haven't picked up BOTW in months but this is reminding me how brilliant of a game it is and motivating me to pick it back up! One question: if you leave a beast during a blight fight, go defeat another divine beast, and then go back to that first fight, how are the blights scaled? (Specifically, I'm thinking about my first playthrough when I got my ass handed to me by Thunderblight so many times that I left the fight, took down Windblight, and then went back to Thunder. Because Thunderblight was the third blight I began fighting but the fourth one that I defeated, how many HP did he have once I eventually defeated him?)
@Croton2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you asked!! The game only counts the blight kill itself as triggering the scaling, so if you back out of your first blight fight, you could go to any other beast/blight and it will still be at the first! Then if you return to the original one after, it'll be at its second. When making this video I actually made a save after finishing all 4 beasts terminals but before the blight fights, so I could test all them at their different scaling orders!

Even with the HP scaling, they were still rather easy to me. I do wish they respawned during a Blood Moon if you choose not to free the Divine Beast yet, though. Maybe not in the Divine Beast (although it's not like they're actually back under Link's control if you choose not to interact with the main control module after the fight, as Naboris still electrocutes you if you travel too close to it, so it could still probably work out), but maybe in the castle before Ganon.
@mariustan9275 Жыл бұрын
Maybe in Master mode you would have to fight the AOC versions, you know the ones where all of them become more vibrant and get more stuff, like Windblight dual weilding cannons, Waterblight getting a cryosis chain mace, and... well Fireblight and Thunderblight stay mostly the same.

12:10 Random, COMPLETELY unrelated thing to notice relative to the context of the video, but I just now got to appreciate that Fireblight's Giant Fireball animation is very reminiscent to how Frieza controls the Deathball in Bardok: Father of Goku. I'll never understand how you have the patience for projects like this, but your videos are always informative. I'm surprised they didn't have Calamity Ganon get stronger with each Phantom Ganon you kill, that way people probably would've complained less about the final boss being too easy. I like that the Divine Beasts actually give you an advantage in gameplay, but they could've had him hit harder with each Divine Beast you free. I guess they tried a little bit, though, since even with fully upgraded armor he can do two hearts of damage to Link.
@a_random_tire Жыл бұрын
i have an idea that would be really cool if it was in totk. What if the blights are there and when you kill one, their weapon goes into your special items tab. You can put it on links weird arm and use it, however it has a cooldown timer like the master sword. Maybe windblight's gun would cost an ancient part each use and if you tried to throw it, you would shoot a laser like a guardian at the cost of an ancient core. I just think that would be a really fun way to play the game.
