September ‘24 ride in Montenegro, Lovcen Mountain National Park road.
This footage is the continuation of my previous ride up the Kotor serpentines. So, just like in the previous video, I’m fully loaded with the luggage and the passenger on the rear seat.
As in the previous video, our ascent to Lovcen mountain national park started in the town of Kotor. There is a narrow, tarmac, mountain road with a lot of hairpins up the steep slopes of the mountain leading from Kotor to the entrance of the Lovcen national park.
This route took me from village of Njegusi, riding on the tolled road through the national park and all the way to the town of Cetinje.
There is another route outside of the national park which will get you to Cetinje from Njegusi, but that route is not as good as the one going through the national park, at least when it comes to riding a motorcycle and enjoying the amazing scenery.
This video starts soon after the entry to the national park and the tolled road going through it. The road itself is excellent, one part of it being dual lane road and the other part, the one going across the top of the mountain, being single lane road, bidirectional. Distance between the entry point and exit point is 24 kilometers. Plenty of turns!
Lovcen mountain top sits at 1749 meters above sea level. That doesn’t seem very high compared to the Alps where alpine passes are well above 2000 meters, but the steepness of the mountain gives the impression that it is much higher than that.
Views from the viewpoints along the route are amazing, with Adriatic sea and the surrounding area.
There are nice hotels and the restaurants along the route and within the national park itself.
