If you ask me, if you're a musician either apart of a band or a solo act, if your work or even a specific song that you personally wrote becomes so well known that at concerts not only does the crowd seem hyped up but go as far as to lose their shit when they hear that first note and everyone in unison is singing and not giving you the chance to; that's when you know you've reached your peak and officially left a lasting impact in your genre. I might not be a hard-core Metallica fan(personally, I'm more of an early 2000's-early 2010's metalcore, post-hardcore, and alternative metal fan) but anybody would be stupid to not admit that it's a feat in itself that for over 40 years they've arguably been in the overall top 5 most popular and successful bands in the metal scene. I might play guitar and bass, and currently in the works of starting something music related, but hypothetically if I experienced this myself; there's no way I'd be like James here and just go "Eh my voice could use the rest for once, I'll allow it."

Good musicians don't get to do this often, but when you're legendary- things fall into place. I'd be fuckin honored to have a crowd know my songs, let alone know the lyrics so well to sing it for me- and im more than sure James is still fuckin cheesed that he's where he is. Sure they had big egos in the 80s, now they do what they love and love what they do- it's humbling cause I'm very sure a few of em wouldn't have survived without the break.

Was there for the debut of Master of Puppets NYE in SFO 1985 with Cliff. Cool to see it come around like this.

The best talent in music I think ever. They started bat such a young age and always sounded so perfect. Still to this day one of the best bands I've ever heard.

Been following Metallica since their beginnings. Living Cali, radio stations didn't play their music, it was just to heavy (early 80s). We would buy bootleg tapes from Canada just to hear them!! Now they are freaking legends! Still rocking and thrashing!!

I think they should tend to their daffodils and roses now and look after the grandkids.

This is one of the clips that made me want to become a musician, imagine being so famous that the crowd can sing the song for you
@justdev89652 жыл бұрын
You'll never find joy in music then. Music is supposed to move you to tears, no matter where or how many people you sing or play to. Go ahead, do it for fame, see where it gets you!

@@HatsuneM1ku01 I don't entirely disagree with you. They're not the most complicated guitar parts. And yet they still have a way of being legendary riffs. Metallica is like the Beatles of metal. None of them are the most technically proficient musicians, but damn they can still write some epic music. Still gotta give credit to James Hetfield's chops though. Some of the best technical rhythm guitarists in metal still wouldn't have the endurance to do those down strokes at 240bpm for 2 hours.
