I am a 52 yr old bloke in the UK and I heard this loads on the radio in 1992, I think when it came out..I was 21 and had my whole life ahead of me. And while I worked on a mushroom farm in Suffolk Uk with an amazing woman, Rita. What I would give to go back and tell her. This song remind me of why you shouldn’t waste chances. Thanks Crowded House. Night all.

Right there with you bud! Try being over 60 and realizing steadily for the last 30 years that you will leave your kids a far worst Earth than you were born to. When my wife and I got married 36 years ago, we both survived well enough to provide all our needs at $3.35 and hour. And not that seems unable to do with 2 at $15.00 and hour. I do not believe there is any hope in survival during retirement, but at least there are a bunch of songs out there from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's that will still bring a smile to my face. Cheers to you!

The impact of Woodface was incredible. Think of the musical environment. Grunge was dominating, Nirvana had put out Nevermind, and acid house and trance were also exploding, and so was gangster rap. Everything was loud and new and in your face. Then along comes Woodface, the most iconic, classic, timeless set of acoustic melodic pop music of the 90's. A breath of fresh air for those of us who love guitar pop. Crowded House saved acoustic music in that era.
@replicas11

Woodface is without doubt, pure class. I was into the rave scene in the UK at the time and this was my favourite album to listen to despite what was going on musically around me at the time, my pals thought I was a prick for liking them, it wasn’t considered cool to be into Crowded House at that time. It's only me that have a feeling about how good, refined and huge quality can always be found in the songs from 80's bands by the way so simple but honest they used to write songs that definetly will be played for many generations ahead? Certainly those ones who lived that era know how lucky they are (Thank God for give me this opportunity). Long life Crowded House - Thanks for everything that you have been made and shared with the fans all over the world. Hopeful for a concert of this great band in the city where I was born and live. Won't deny, this is one of those songs that every time you listen to it, it brings a tear to the eye. A time when music made you think about its meaning and it was easy to listen to. That's not to say that a lot of modern music doesn't do that - just that songs like this are immortal. Tomorrow, the next day or in a hundred million days' time, these songs will live on. If Busted are anything to go by, when we're living underwater in the year 3000, we'll still be listening to things like this; even though, ironically, underwater the only weather is wet

30th anniversary of album release: 1st July 1991, Woodface, the third studio album by Australian band Crowded House. The album was a major hit in Australia and New Zealand as well as giving the band their first top ten hit album in the UK. The best song in the album, and one of the most memorable songs of my university days, is surely this, released as a single February 1992.
