We arrive at Crowden Camping and Caravanning Site in north Derbyshire and stay for 3 nights. Walking around the reservoir and the hills in the sunshine with stunning scenery and a barbecue to end the day. Joe tells us what he has been up to during lockdown.

Hi Trevor. We stayed here about about 23 years ago, and it honestly has not changed much !! We remember the midges well! being in a tent in those days, it wasnt the best few days. But it is a beautiful site and a lovely place to walk. The wife's family come from that area, so we know it well. Enjoy your holiday and take care.

Can't believe we've driven over the Woodhead pass lots of times, it's never even entered our heads to stop and explore the area, now you've shown us it's time for us to explore, it's only 30 minutes away from our house - thanks for showing us around 👍- May be a good site for our first trip away in Caravan as its close to home & close to Glossop caravans if we have any problems 😁

There is a public car park at Crowden and there is a public WC in 100 yards next to the campsite on the Pennine Way. You can walk several reservoirs and the trails are all well marked and very pretty with views of hills and of course birds and trees galore. It may be a nice first trip out for your new caravan 👍🏻😃 Trev

It was a very traditional site which had all sorts of camping going on and definitely a tranquil area with beautiful countryside all around. Very enjoyable 😃👍🏻 Trev

Enjoyed your video as always Trev.The walking can be tough going in Derbyshire especially as the years progress! If you havent been before you will enjoy the area around Lickpenny.There is a garden centre very close by with a cafe and you will be near to Matlock, Matlock Bath and Bakewell. Cauldwells Mill at Rowsley is worth a visit for its vegetarian cafe by the river- good homemade food and free parking.

Hi Trev and Sue, what a lovely quiet site, the walks and scenery around the reservoir are beautiful. Joes bbq was yummy again, enjoy your stay at Lick penny campsite. I know where it is as we’ve passed when visiting Matlock, so be very interested to have a look around. Thank you for sharing x

Haha 😂 😂 that so made me smile…. Glossop Caravans was a strong temptation. We bought an Elddis Aurora from there in 2004 ish. It was brand new and our first of 4 Elddis vans. I remember browsing round there many times and the fire that burnt down their showroom too. We drove past yesterday and the gardens outside were spectacular. I remember them as a good dealership that I would go back to. Don’t tempt me 🤣🤣 Trev

They sold their house which was becoming a worry and needed work doing. With all things considered the new place is absolutely ideal and they are away from the hustle and bustle of the town in a pretty village setting. Looks like a nice to site from which to enjoy a bit of walking. Always a bonus as we don't tow a car. You were fortunate with the weather too. Always a bonus! I noticed you had the new sunshades in use, how were they?

They were pretty good. I would like to test them for a bit longer to decide whether they are worth the £78 we paid for them. The nice thing is that they are nice and strong, lightweight, give a little privacy and fold up small. We haven’t got them wet yet but we believe they will reduce the rain entering under the canopy.
